Worst job i have ever had

Left a very secure job for this company, I have been laid off more than I have worked, they have no respect for skilled trades employees and it shows. The union is useless. Extremely high stress job with the worst benefits and vacation package I have ever had as a tradesman. Stay where you are this job isn't what it was 20 years ago.

Fun Workplace and Inclusive Management

I worked as a part time receptionist and the hours were very fair an the shift was busy but always fell off which i didnt mind as there was always calls to pick up and paperwork to organize. Management is laid back and enjoyable, friendly but stern to a point if needed. I have been laid off for about 4 months now because of a shortage of work which is a big con as the job security is not big in my area.

Fast paced rewarding and great team

Its is a fast paced environment and it can be demanding at times. But you have a great team including management to support each other. The people genuinely care about you and it is a place where all team members succeed together.

Overall a good company to work for

Poorly managed systemPays wellBenefits are mediocre Hours are terrible it’s all about seniority and not about how hard and dedicated you work. if you’re at the bottom of the totem pole then you will be stuck on the hardest back breaking job that nobody wants or always get injured on.

Fast Production

fast learning curve. Once you know your duties is not a bad company to work for.As usual union enviorement has bad apples that make the process complicated at the beginning. after that is pretty good company overall.

Fun working for Ford Credit

First it was very easy to start working by learning how to make sure communication is the keys to solve any problem and the management was great always looking to make sure everybody is doing good.the workplace culture was great no complains .The hardest part of the job when you work hard but in the end of the month you find out your salary is not enough for your needs. Always fun working for Ford Credit

Good pay but really long hours

I worked as a TPT for 3 years almost and I can say from experience, unless you like to work in an environment that smells like grease all the time, where you're sometimes in a corner all alone, or on a job where you will have to stand for 8 hours. This is not the job for you. However the pay was very good so if you can trade off the negatives for the positive then go for it. But personally I didn't enjoy it at all. Once I asked the management for a chair to sit on cause the job they had me on wasnt and actual job, it was more just me checking to see if someone did something right an d put it in the right place, and it took him over 3 hours to get me a chair. In the end, I ended up asking another member of management for the chair and he brought me one within 30 minutes.

Would not recommend as a career, only as quick money.

Quit after becoming fulltime. Realized I didn't want to waste my life any further sometime after they forced me to start showing up at 5AM when I'd only agreed to the shift starting at 12:30PM. Management really does not care about you. Bad: TPTs are super expendable and made to do the hard work while fulltimers stand around gossiping... but they'll never get fired for it because the place runs on nepotism. Unless you got referred by someone who already works there, your job is not safe. (I know this because I was referred for the position, and I saw all the other TPTs who hadn't been referred get fired en masse one day, while I alone got to stay.) Bosses mostly look down on those working under them. The pressure to hit daily quotas can be harsh if you're not used to it. Another thing to mention is that some coworkers here make the job a lot harder than it should be. If you're sensitive to sexism or racism, avoid warehouses... those are essentially a given part of the work environment. High likelihood of being physically injured by the repetitive nature of most of the jobs if you do them for any notable length of time. Oh, and as for work/life balance, not very good... since I was usually on the closing shift, overtime happened virtually every day... it's "optional" overtime but people will get upset if you routinely don't stay to help with it. Annoyingly, on some weeks the supervisor would give me only one shift for the whole week, and as a TPT there wasn't any way to know how many shifts I'd be given for the upcoming workweek until the weekend beforehand. They went through 34 salesman in 3 years

There was lots of internal sales throughout the dealership sales GM passing sales to staff that would sell add on and warranties so GM gets all the kick back and if you didn’t play game no easy sales?!

No leadership

Lack of real leadership continually negatively impacted staff, management and customers. Micromanaging and poor decision making has forced good employees to look elsewhere and is costing this business success.

Relaxed workplace that needs to improve with the times

While wonderful to work here, especially with respect to the money, it is still very much a boys club in the year 2020. This is something that should be addressed.

If only I could give Ford Motor Company zero stars

Harassed if you miss any days and even if you have a doctor's note HR hassles you. I got an umbilical hernia from working there and was told that it wasn't due to activities at Ford so was denied WSIB claim. When you are working constantly and there 10 hrs Mon-Thurs + 8hrs Friday and mandatory Saturdays, not sure how else this would happen, in my sleep? I also have torn muscle and ligament in my elbow and trigger finger from repetitive working conditions (I worked there for 3 years). 3 years later after quitting, my elbow still gives me problems. Hospital emerg visit for debris in the eye that turned into a circus side show of humiliation when returned to work. 6 Supervisors (plant supervisor, 2 man power supervisors, my own line supervisor, plus 2 more) came to this station, was forced to dress in painters coveralls, safety glasses under goggles, and a dust mask, rubber gloves under normal work gloves in the middle of summer. Trouble even picking up a screw to install and trouble seeing because the goggles were fogging up. Supervisors stood over and every time line went down, was threatened with firing. Union person was nowhere to be found for an hour and was evident he is in Ford pocket

Not the best place to work

Really repetitive work. Working shift work is difficult. Don’t have much of a life away from work. Management doesn’t treat you very well. The pay isn’t work the work.

Support Position

Ottawa location is a great place to work. Very collaborative and easy to fit in. Some managers are easy going but knowledgeable, while some of the senior management can be difficult even borderline aggressive. The location lead even though incredibly busy has an open door policy and very reasonable as well as values his staff.

Good luck working here

I came into the company thinking that it will be a 30 years and retire job. Absolutely not! I was on year 5 and the whole dynamic of the place has changed. You can only have 4 sick days (with documentation provided) a year without being penalized, benefits are worse then social assistance. You are just a number to them, they don’t care. It takes 11 years to get to top wage... and then maybe you can finally get ahead of bills and sit comfortable. Just a horribly run company.

Terrible work place

Worst place I have ever worked. You are treated as an employee number only. Any mistakes you make you are punished for. Vacations are next to impossible to get approved(unless you have high seniority). Sick days are a painful process to explain to the company and require doctor notes. People you work with all act like high school kids. Yohave no life.

It's only exciting in the beginning

It was an exciting right out of school. The DSA department is full of new graduate so it's fun to make friends but soon enough, you'll see that the department is poorly structured, supervisors have their favorites, it isn't about what you do but how well you kiss their behind that you get recognised, lots of lateral move but no real promotion. This specific department has high turnover because people realise it's not that great. 50% of management have no people skills. HR doesn't even know your name and we only have one floor (not professional)
