Pay isn't worth it but the people and atmosphere are
That's it. It was a good work environment mut the pay was minimal. It wasn't easy living half an hour away. Closing shifts usually take an extra hour at least than scheduled.

Just bad
First job type of work. Management ignored my concerns and messages. Other crew members made it apparent they already had their little “group” which I was not a part of. Constantly made me do the work they never wanted to do. Never trained me past dressing burgers then fired me for my availability as a student. Overall not worth it and a waste of time if you’re looking for a part time job as a teenager.

Great place needs to be more organized, communication wise!
Enjoyed working there, the team is great. It did have its ups and downs but what other business doesn’t, especially in the food industry. I do advise you to apply.

Fun, energetic, and fasted paced workplace.
Five Guy's Burgers and Fires is a great place to work because of the flexible schedule and fun work environment. The only disadvantage working there is the long commute. Roughly three hours busing or depending on traffic 45 minutes to an hour and a half driving.

Fast pace restaurant
It’s a face pace restaurant a little unorganized to many employees coming and going. Very difficult on your body but keeps you active. One free meal a day on your shift and on a 6+ hrs shift 1 30 mins unpaid break.

A learning experience
This was my first job, and in the time I was there I was able to move up quite far in the company. I learned a lot about the industry and I enjoyed the job a lot. However, management was horrible. Everyone was unorganized, my supervisor was rude and unprofessional and it created a toxic culture which contributed to high turnover and poor job satisfaction.

Absolute bs
The whole company is under managment of drug users or growers. There is absoluetly zero organization and management. Its run by two assistant general managers who have a combined IQ of perhaps 12.3. 100% do not recommend, manager KXXX is a huge snitch and a non pleseant person.

Customer-oriented restaurant with diner-like atmosphere
As a supervisor and trainer, I have gained experience in food preparation, administrative skills, quality customer service, and quality maintenance of the work place. The atmosphere is intended to feel like a diner, especially given the specialization in burgers and fries and the interior design being of red and white tiles. This establishment is great in providing several opportunities to climb up the career chain, given after three months of employment and a highly noticeable work ethic and dedication to the work culture and service will allow you to apply for a supervisor position. Increases in pay based on position is possible, but slightly low increments depending on the advancement. I would recommend this restaurant as a first job for those seeking employment within the high school/university age range, as it will teach you team work, leadership, and it gives you hands-on learning experience most restaurants do not have.

A typical day at work is operating a cash register, cutting potatoes, onions, and cheese. cleaning the lobby, wiping down chairs and tables, making sure the store is always in good condition

Great work environment
It was an outstanding work environment with a lot of different characters that got along extremely well. The process of making the food was enjoyable and it felt good to be working there. Unfortunately, the hours when I worked there weren't flexible enough.

Fun exciting place.
Team was awesome. Manager was fun, owners were a little relaxed but still got the job done when you saw them. Food was amazing, cleanest place I ever worked.

Productive and enjoyable place to work with benefits but basic salary
Typical day would consist of 5 stations

Station 1: Maning the cash register, welcoming newcomers and explaining how the operation works. You would take orders and money (cash, credit, debit) and return proper change, if necessary.


Station 2: Follow the chit as to what goes on each (toasted) bun, including proper order and placement, attention to detail here is important.


Station 3: Ensuring that the proper number of burgers/dogs are being prepared and prepared properly according to regulations and customer preference.


Station 4: Checking the work of the Station 2 person, calling the amount/type of burger that is next in line, wrapping said burgers/hot dogs when all is ready, calling the type of bag and fries to Station 5.


Station 5: Making sure that the fries are prepared according to Five Guys standards. Ensuring that the proper amount of fries are ready for each order, at the proper time. Putting the finished product in the appropriate bag and delivering to the customers.


You could be asked to work any of these sections at any given time.


I learned to be very flexible and listen to the bosses. Also to work in a fast-paced environment, where details are of utmost importance.


Management is very dependable, kind and are always willing to listen and use ideas given by staff to increase productivity and support.


Co-workers are fun and mostly on track to pursue a higher education. In the fast food industry, it is extremely rare, but here some workers have stayed for over 3 years.

fun workplace while working us hard
a typical day at work starting in the morning would be to get to work, and get everything ready for opening at 11 am. I would open the lobby, put drink machine together, prep food if needed, clean bathrooms, sweep floors, and stock everything. I have learned how to work hard, and to be a team player. Management was good sometimes and not so great other times, there were obviously better managers then some. Co-workers were fun, great and hard working and encouraged me to work.
There is no hard part to the job. The most enjoyable part of the job is communicating with customers.

Learnt excellent customer service skills
Working at Five Guys was a very exciting setting as it was my first job. I was a crew member and was responsible for taking customer orders, I had to maintain fast, accurate service, and positive guest relations. It had taught me to work as a team member.

Friendly and fun environment
A typical day at work would be to start off by cooking on the grill (patties). Make sure that we are all stock for rushes on dinner service. Change task many different types throughout the day such as dressing, cash, cooking fry’s, handing in the final product to customers, dishes, cut potato’s, mop, sweep and stocking. I've leaned that it is important to move at a fast paste. To be well prepare for dinner or lunch service. To be always doing something to not slow doing the service or your coworker. Management is good; they interact with their employee very well. They always give you something to do if your not sure. The only problem is the lack of scheduling. The co-workers are almost all teenagers which is important to work in a fast pace restaurant such as Five Guys. The hardest part of the job is cutting many bags of potato fries and bringing them in the refrigerator, which is very heavy. I am usually the one doing all of it since I'm able to carry a lot of weight. The most enjoyable part of the job is working as a team, interacting with clients and satisfied customers.
