Depending on the job it is an interesting place to work with different degrees of difficulty. Engineering teams with quality engineers fun to work thru the various job issues but great group of people to work with from all departments. Hardest part of the job was my travel to and from the plant each day as I did not relocate my family to be closer to Brampton. Automotive world will teach you numerous learning lessons in safety , production , quality , responsiveness and finance all in a fast paced environment.
Very cooperative workplace A good way of training Working at FCA is greater opportunity to learn new things with more knowledgeable team members, who always try to make good environment during work hours with more hard work and cooperation.
Typical day of work consists of validating and inspecting fully assembled vehicles as they come off the lot. This would include test driving of automatic and manual vehicles to ensure vehicle safety and to look for any defects in workmanship. Alignment of vehicles and safety inspections. Vehicle assembly from start to finish including paint, doors and manufacturing processes. Management was firm but fair. Workplace culture was more of a solitary one as each employee needed to understand what was to be done and on a timely manner. Hardest part of job was lack of breaks and workign in a factory environment. Most enjoyable part of the job was how different the job was compared to all others.
It is a great work environment with friendly people who are willing to help. Supervisors favour people to give more hours to, so typically are not given enough hours. Also do not have the opportunity for a raise as a TPT.
management is unknowledgeable and toxic...bullies are promoted...trades managers with no experience...the company management has changed over the years...its gotten very bad..the plant manager is the worst ever
I worked there for 30 years, lots of opportunity and learning experience, from production jobs to union positions. Great pay and lots of benefits. Two rotating shifts for production. Great place to apply if your a trade, electricians and millwright.
My typical 8 hour day at work can consist of 2 hours of work then a 10 minute break, with a 20 minute lunch.. also a 10-15 minute relief included. The management is very average but the employees are friendly and can have great conversation while working throughout the day
From an hourly perspective it's a fairly good job, steady work and steady pay. Worked there over 20 years so far. I good place to get hard work experience in an salary capacity. Not for the faint of heart.
FCA Brampton Assembly is an incredibly toxic place to work in which the expectations are unreachable and the workforce is not provided the tools or knowledge in order to succeed. There is little advancement available and individuals who show work ethic are often over saturated with the work of others who do not complete it in a timely manner
Toxic, Negative, Bullying, Lack of Basic Management
I worked as a temporary part time worker on the student program and was in the material handling department. Work is fast paced, all stations need to be resupplied with the necessary parts promptly. Driving safety rules for in house vehicles are very important, always be aware of your surroundings. Breaks can come often if you work quickly and appropriately.
