There is a lot of fights between the kitchen staff , because everyone thinks they are better then everyone else & when you ask for help if you are new and not to sure on what to do on you job or line, the other staff will help but they usual talk behind your back after they help you, this place was every stressful and lot of the staff were really petty.

Worst management team, manipulation, bullying, speaks to you like you’re a child. Would never recommend this place to anyone I know, to live at or work at.
Bullying non stop
I worked their than I had serious health issues and then my manager says to me ,you have been so good up until this point. I didn't plan my illness and it was from working so many hours and double shifts. The management needs to be better trained. Also if you keep treating your employees like they don't matter when someone gets sick. Something is wrong with this because I help people and get so much satisfaction out of making people happy. Then when a PSW gets sick and phones in because they don't want to make other people sick that are vulnerable and fragile ,they tell you that it's hard to replace you for that shift. If we weren't sick we would be there. So the Oshawa extended care on park Rd needs a over haul.
The clients can be nice .
Not enough compassion for people.
Great opportunity for learning and allowed me to do a lot. All of the other recreation staff were excellent. The residents have really touched my heart and changed my life! All departments treat the residents so great! Such a great place!
Very cliquey place to work, with toxic management. They were all cozy with each other, yet seemed to hate the staff. Most horrible feeling to perform under. Most staff seemed terrified of the bosses & I understand why. Also, reported safety issues were treated by mgmt as if they were trivial personal complaints, rather than concern for the residents. I have told my kids that if I ever need to be put in a nursing home in my later years absolutely DO NOT ever put me in Extendicare.
None, not even union - which is useless
A typical day is usually very busy. Answering staff enquirers, answering phones and family questions. The hardest part of my job is that, I feel as though it could be a two person job. I feel like I don`t have much support to do the best job that I can do. The most enjoyable part of my day is seeing all the residents and interacting with them and their families.

I was very very happy with my experience with Extendicare overall. The residents that I worked with and the co-workers as a whole were fantastic when it came to taking their time and knowledge of the position and training us students.
Fast paced enviroment
differences as to how a job gets safely done
Productive and a great place to work and a great atmosphere. Clean and inviting and if i needed a question answered it was always answered.
A super great place to work and awesome people. Clean and inviting and if i needed a question answered it was always answered.
I was responsible for painting nails of the elder women. I learned a lot about different cultures from the people that work there and also the elders. The management was sloppy at times but overall they came out with very successful events. My co-workers were very respectful and extremely nice at all times, which I enjoyed. The hardest part of the job was the beginning because I was extremely shy, but i got into the job quickly and loved it. The most enjoyable part of the job was bringing new ideas to the table and expanding the company.
My typical day at work will be checking all the maintenance log books to ensure i review and repair any required maintnenance issues that were previously reported to keep a safe environment. I enjoy working in this industry as it is very multicultrial and diverse. The most difficult part of this job is making sure that all the proirity issues get resolved before the end of the shift, if i can't get this done i would always stay till they have been completed. This company doesn't like to pay overtime so this is a challenge but i never leave safety issues undone.
working with many things to be achieved in a short day
