Better pay, Company events, great people
Can be stressful, Some unpleasant people
its a good place with good people. Work is work. But what makes a good company is the people. No shortage of good people here. There are lots of team building activities.
A bit of politics
It's definitely one of the better companies I worked for. That being said, the person in charge of you definitely changes everything. I've come across some really intimidating supervisors in the past and that was the only time I really wanted to quit but overall it's not too bad. I learned quite a bit about low voltage and that really helped my electrical career.
Intimidating people above you, but that's every other company out there
Great place to work if you are looking to advance your self, working for ESC is a career not just another “job”. Management actively works with employees to help them accomplish personal career goals. Management is always accommodating to requests for time off. The best company planned events.

As an applications engineer your experience at this company and this branch will largely be dictated by who your manager is. Very different managing styles across the board, the engineering group is close knit. If you are going to join the engineering team here be paitent, firm and make notes about everything. First 6 months will be difficult, it gets easier after that.
Flexibility in work hours
Blame game is played a lot
All of the people at ESC are friendly and helpful. The work was typical of an electric controls company. I've learned a lot about the controls portion of HVAC while working here. It really felt like a family which is why I was dissappointed to be laid off due to lack of work.
A lot of free or cheap company events and activities, Several people to help your advancement in the company and in your apprenticeship.
As a smaller company, they can run low on work during a recession
Can be a tough place to start out at, as they have training programs for their products, but a lot of what you need to know to execute a job is learned by doing. Once you are established in your role you do feel valued and that you can be an asset for the company. The management works hard to ensure that projects are executed well, and they also coordinate company events to allow people across the company to interact and get to know each other while having fun.
Positive environment among similar working groups
Not great training for newer employees
I love this company but they just set you up for failure, they don’t train you they just ask you to do a task and expect you to know how no matter how hard and when you don’t do it their way they get extremely upset. The managers do not talk between each other, sales manager Talks down to anyone he feels is lesser and openly shows his contempt for everyone and how he is better. They have amazing benefits and do some events for the employees but not worth it in the end
Great crews, but poor management. The company took on too many large projects and got overwhelmed causing a lot of moral issues. Not the worst company to work for, but wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Learned alot while working there. There is a steep learning curve as an application technologist and the managers really challenge you to think. I have gained skills that will help me for the rest of my career while working at ESC.
One of the best companies at teaching
