EQB is a great place to work and learn lending for larger loan sizes and varying asset classes. Difficult to obtain promotion as team is small and rarely turn over.
Fun, relaxing, nice people, decent management
Hard to get promoted
Good work life balance. Great parties but slow systems. Hesitant to let people work from home, but covid has changed that. Flat organisational structure no room to grow, but if you want stability you will get it here. Good bonuses too.

The company itself is very progressive with technology and changes. Depending on which office you interview for, local management is very old school. BC and AB management is very conservative and don't embrace new ideas and change.
There were many opportunities to learn and experience tasks. Extremely big focus on equity ratio made people have to work harder than what may be normally expected.
Too many tasks heaped on people made the workload draining.
So so company. Micro management. Recent changes may have improved this though with addition of new products. However I think the old management is still there. I may have a chip on my shoulder since they let me go with no reason after a good annual review.
Lower than undustry salary
The company itself is great to work with and there is no micro management although the role itself is very stressful and work load is overwhelming and not spread evenly amongst staff members. If you're shown to handle a lot on your plate they take advantage rather than help to remove work load. Management can also be selfish and restrict you from moving up if you're essential to the team. It sucks because the company itself is great, it just depends on who your manager is.
Nice environment and you got to dress up nice. and uniform are provided. Very good experienced and very good company to work with. Very time consuming to go work a little bit far from my place.
Enjoyed learning about mortgages and the B-lending industry in financial services. Management is overall good, but depends on your own department. Workplace culture is quite relaxed and fun, but hard work is required at times.
Highly recommended leadership courses. Working at Equitable Bank there is a lack of management. There isn't a fair workload. VP needs to be more knowledgeable about the staff. There is a lack of communication with staff. There is no set expectations and a lack of coaching.
Supportive management with emphasis on information security and technology leadership. Employee engagement and positive work environment to deliver projects that matter the most.
Flexible work hours
