Don’t lie about the opportunities, offer better pay, actually pay people for the hours they work instead of giving them in lieu, which you can’t take as it effects your profit sharing, don’t run on such a small staff, provide proper training, don’t require all new workers to work in the warehouse first (degree holders aren’t going to stick around for backbreaking labour), provide proper feedback, ensure that the new worker is actually getting shown how to use equipment properly (I was never shown). The list goes on and on.
Don't run on short staff. People need more mini vacations or personal days in a year to ensure work, home and mental health are balanced. More people are wanting to work to have money to enjoy life through travel and recreation...we need to be able to work hard but have time to play hard as well!
