Substitute Teacher (Employé actuel) – Edmonton, AB – 6 septembre 2019
Culture is great, students are awesome.
It is unclear how people are hired (likely nepotism, or who wins the HR lottery). HR sends out a resume (whenever/if ever they feel like it), and great educators can be stuck as a sub for 5+ years. If you want to know why teacher attrition is so high, then stop keeping people trapped in poverty substitute wages for years. At some point people give up, stuck in a poverty rut.
I would not recommend this job to my past self. Teacher training programs keep pumping out the graduates. Strongly recommend to avoid EPSB and this profession, in general.

Great place to work but if you dont get along with a principal it is impossible to get a job..
Educational Assistant E (Ancien employé) – Edmonton, AB – 4 octobre 2019
Loved working here but the principal didn't really like me so I decided to resign and because it was within my 6month probation I can not get another job with them. All thanks to the "review" my principal gave me.
Principal (Ancien employé) – Edmonton, AB – 16 septembre 2019
Great place to work, learn and be a part of a team focused on making things better for students. Once you are established, there are many opportunities for career advancement. You get back what you put in. My experiences have been rewarding. - thank you!
