Upper management gets thousands to tens of thousands in bonuses every year despite the fact that it is not earned and most of them do nothing all day. Bonuses are based on P&L, so the less staff they have doing the work, the more money the managers will make.
Office hours are Mon-Fri 8am - 5pm. Having any kind of life outside of work is frowned upon, and the only family they care about is their own. Upper Management show up and leave whenever they want, but they don't do any actual work.
