Awesome experience
Throughout the few years I have worked at DBOS I have acquired new skills and have learnt a lot of about myself through the clients and the training I was provided. The clients are amazing and will give you new tools to further yourself if you chose in the line of work. DBOS has little to no chance of moving up in the company. The management has been here for a long time and until they retire I feel there is no chance of moving up unless you get the odd maternity contract. I would have stayed at DBOS if they offered full-time staff what they deserve- Working less weekends (you are required to work 2), being more flexible with schedules, paid more for the level of skill/tasks they require of you to do IE: they have goals which are tasks that other companies supervisors (higher ups) would be required to complete. For the amount of skills this job requires it should be paying 25.00 (top rate) minimum for what they require of you. If they were more flexible with the weekends they would keep there good full-time staff, however they refuse to work with the full-times and only seem to care about giving the part-time and causal employees there desired schedule. I would have happily worked 1 out of 4 weekends. Overall my experience was good and I did learn lots, if I ever landed in a position where I needed a job, I'd reapply.

A Company you'd LOVE to work for
I really enjoy working at Deafblind Ontario Services. I never doubt the significance of my work, because management always provides recognition. They are very transparent as well, and practised many open conversations on how to influence my position to be more fulfilling. As an entry level employee, I really appreciated how management was open to my opinions and ideas regarding department projects. The organization's culture is amazing, with management encouraging teamwork and work life balance.

Love where you work
I have worked for DeafBlind Ontario Services for a number of years now. I love that everyday is something different. That the people we support surprise and teach me something everyday. I have learned so much about how important accessibility is and how it impacts the people who need it. Learning different way to communicate and expand on my skills to communicate outside of speaking is something I can forever use. DeafBlind Ontario services focuses on training and making sure Intervenors are about the support the clients the best they can.

VERY rewarding
Absolutely love working here as it provides me the satisfaction of knowing I am helping the deafblind community everyday. VERY rewarding. I have been with this organization for more than 3 years and staff are friendly, everyone works as a team and works hard. Not to mention, I am valued and recognized for my hard work.

A committed agency to both their client's and staff
I have worked at this company for about 3.5 years. In this time I have learned so much about the deaf blind culture. I have been sent to a course that helped me learn all about Sign language and this specific culture. I went from part-time to full time with great benefits and a good wage. I feel that management has been nothing but supportive and easy to work with. When I have had a issue I have been able address these concerns in a positive constructive way and have never felt unheard. Teamwork is a major part of the work system and I feel everyone brings a unique work ethic and experience to the home, which then benefits both the clients and the rest of the staff members which is welcomed. I feel this is a really rewarding place to work. There is so much to learn and the company gives you freedom to explore other ways of expanding you career I'm very happy that I was offered a job with this company and sure there are times when things don't go as you want, but that happens in every job you just have to raise above it. This is a great career opportunity for any one who wants to make a difference .
