Boring company... Not paying a single cent for waiting, layover or No any kind of benefits like Dental, vision or drugs, health care..
Only Broker making money and the company does not hire any drive so the company didn't
e directly, so no any driver getting help by the company
A large company out to make money. Nothing new about that, but you sure feel it as an employee. Yes, the benefits package was REALLY good, but day-to-day work life was a challenge. It became clear after time that the company mantra at the location I was in was "pass the buck".
The people in my own department were delightful to work with but anything beyond my little world was a never-ending stream of seemingly discontent employees.
Once, MAYBE twice a year there was a company-sponsored lunch or barbeque
Again, Once, MAYBE twice a year there was a company-sponsored lunch or barbeque. Moral was low.
Day and Ross dedicated logistics has issues. Management doesn't care about worker rights. Your hired as broker or agency employees. Keep looking! No waiting time paid if line haul is delayed. Pathetic Christmas party, you have to pay for your spouse. Forced overtime exceeding 12 hr day. Preforming duties your not hired for. All together I was very disappointed with managements actions and lack of genuine concern.
As sad as this sounds it falls under its a job....started out as an enjoyable place to work but not so much now. There's more loads cancelled or givin away to the ( favorite ) drivers ....your required to sign sheets of paper saying that you've been to a ie: safety meeting which there never waz.
I worked here for 3 years. I worked overtime hours every single day (at least 2 hours a day) unpaid and was told by the manager Day and Ross does not pay overtime but I was not authorized to leave the building until the last driver arrived with paperwork to complete and send linehaul out. The management was nothing but bullies and although I seeked help from Human Resources I have just been ignored and left to fall through the cracks since my stress leave. Would not advise anyone to work here.
Unpaid overtime, horrible management, unhelpful Human Resources
I started off this job doing OSD and then was put on pallets. I am very good with numbers and research and did an excellent job in finding out where the pallets went and many of the customers had many errors in their accounting.
I did this for most of the time I was there, and then a head hunter came and took me to do the same job at Manitoulin Transport, because they had a large problem with pallets also.
i worked at day and ross situated at Van kirk drive as forklift operator.
the culture their is very toxic. everybody is very rude and aggressive there. especially they white and south idian(midnight) supervisor. they have zero leadership qualities and communication skills. they are very rude and dont know how to talk with others. they openly use fu**words against coworkers and safety is far away on their list. i saw forklifts hitting each other almost everyday, people picking other peoples trucks with forks as jokes, pushing other trucks from behind with forks and supervisors just ignored these practices. bunch of morons.
Dangerous goods, spilled, flying dust particles.
Very fast and dangerous lift driving environment.
Family operated, if you re not in the floor supervisor(bosses son) click then no chances of being hired.
Hypocrites in managing staff, you are a number.
6months for an agency before they hire you,
