Fair place to work, strong focus on how people are treated. Management team not to where they should be for a company of this size. Not nearly enough enfaces on training for technicians. Though office employees seemed to receive all sorts of opportunity for career growth, the mechanics rarely saw any.

After 15 years of employment they wouldn't even entertain the idea of moving me to another position after my department was moved to Denver. Throughout my career I had to deal with a terrible work culture where the manager would berate you publicly for the crime of taking a sick day. When you try to report abuse anonymously it is reported back to the person you are reporting! I was told by Corporate that they were aware of the abuse but were unable to do anything because he was a profitable manager. The only thing that kept me there was the money. From the outside this company looks shiny but it's core is rotten.

The people and team are highly skilled, the job is demanding and team work is everything. The entire job is people powered and this makes all the difference, people need direction and guidance. Achieved higher production and best quality with least amount of space and resources. Making the impossible happen everyday is not easy but we did it.

after 13 years i have done it all at Cummins. from receiving to shipping, cores to purchasing, answering phones to face to face. I was able to do it all

Rigid structure, well run and efficient business, great experience, but can be low pay unless you climb corporate ladder, but they accelerate youth in management positions. Overall good company, but work hard to succeed.

Would have stayed long term but left to return to Kelowna BC. Good support network, satisfied employees. Extensive travel in the sales rolls, excellent advancement opportunities once employed.

I was hired to work on projects that would make positive changes in the workplace. Unfortunately, many of these projects were stopped in their tracks. I liked the people I worked with, but have to say it was challenging to do my job.

Typical day would be to come in rarely anyone acknowledges you,. set up the computer, get coffee and then data entry. People do not speak in the office. Its often refered to as the "morgue"
Hardest part of the job is no training

Help and advise were always at hand. Always felt a close part of the company. Challenging & interesting. loved getting up and going to work every morning with a sense of pride in what i did and accomplished in 10 years. The training and seminars educated me to be a successful Project Manager. i got due recognition, which goaded me to do better.

Double standards, favoritism, very little respect. This place is a pay check and nothing more. New positions are given on favoritism and not skills, experience or tenure.
Company has taken away bonuses, or now give very little. No resepect is given, every speaks to one another poorly. No management in office. people come and go as they please, but then others are held accountable for being on time getting work done etc

start at shop at 7:30 am , down load work orders and cust contact info , load required parts and supplies , travel to site , perform duties and inform cust of results , fill in electronic data for office to bill and send to customer . Co-workers were great and supported each other well. Long hours most days were getting hard . Was nice to meet people and solve their problems .

The people I worked with were, for the most part, pretty good. Like any workplace there was the usual politics & backstabbing but overall not too bad. Our so called manager never did anything to promote team spirit and actively sought to drive wedges between departments. His lack of leadership & even competence was on display every day.
Every month we were forced to audit some failed metric from the previous month with little or no explanation as to it's relevance. Any criticism or questioning of the metric is met with indignation;

"How dare you question the Great Oz!" was the perception. I got the impression that nobody really knew what the answers were but didn't want to admit it.


All in all, a pretty disappointing experience after great hype.
