Courtyard by marriott Burlington. Management is favoritism, staff having affairs. Not recommended to work. Lots and lots of staff resigned because of the mananagement.they force you clean stay overs despite of covid and variant virus still very active.the management are rude and they dont care about you There is NO teamwork at all..There are days that there are no clean sheets and stuff in the linen rooms.you have to go up and down to get your stuff. Not a good place to work.
It is a good place to learn and grow, you can face vary challenge same problems to all the small size hotel and Franchises, one person plays a lot of roles but with poor wage. According to the management group's skills and style, staff's feeling can be very different. Making sure you know it is a Franchise or branch by Marriott. Because the management group totally different on the business performance and employee management. Usually, they are organizational management, so with the problem of franchise like high turnover rate, misunderstanding and less repect between managers and teammembers, no plan for incoming events and group, less training for new hire staff, lack of team leader, etc. But employees have empowerment to make decisions and participate in discussion at anytime, few levels of management between mannagement and staff level employees.

They posted vacancy called me for interview never heard anything when I called to make a follow up manager told me that management decided not to fill up the position.Why wasted people’s time effort and gasoline only to tell applicants management decided not to fill the position up please during this hard times be considerate to people who needed work.

Excellent company. Mgmt is very good, most of the team members are good (Most)....plenty of activities, discounted food n Bev options.
Overall an excellent company and management. Growth is difficult. Supervisors have a tough time in F&B, they work hard. Servers are well protected. Pay is good for morning staff. Evening staff are mostly dependent on tips. Excellent benefits. All the department heads are very approachable. Friendly. HR manager is good so is the staff, GM takes extra care n is very energetic. Overall an excellent company. F&B Mgr n management is very very helpful and they really care. Sometimes one odd supervisor acts little cocky....but a 5 star rating.

No weekends of new employees but as you progress it gets better.
When I first started there it was great then they wanted me to work overtime and I did but then they wouldn't pay me. I was told to take time off for the overtime but then when I wanted to take time off I was told I couldn't take time off there was never a good time to take this time off. The other thing that they're good for is writing people up, you hear it threatened daily.
Management is never satisfied
It was a great place to work! I love getting to know the employees on a more personal level instead of treating them like a number.Food was incredible, management was very open and available.I’d definitely go back in a heartbeat.
This is by far the worst and most abusive workplace I have ever had the displeasure of working in. Management is so cheap that they refuse to even order enough of things needed for the job like towels and cleaning equipment. Every single one of the vacuum cleaners are broken but you are just told to go around finding another one that kinda works.
Je n'ai pas me plaindre,bonne entreprise,je le conseil aux personnes a la recherche de la paix aux travail, J'ai déménagé a Québec et souhaiterais reprendre dans ceux hotel renommé comme marriott courtyard Merci

I really liked the people I worked with. At the start of my start date, we had a great Front Desk Mgr who trained me really well. Good hours. Certain things I felt Management could have perhaps planned better for in terms of extra coverage. When they knew there was going to be a big group coming in during the overnight shift that I had worked, in one instance in particular. But not a huge deal. Maybe things have changed since I had been there. But I felt there was not a whole lot of room for advancement in terms of promotions.

short staffed for a long time, At times there seemed to be Miscommunication between management and staff, When there were fishing lodge groups, who came every summer, no regular performance reviews
Usually, the summer season is the very busy season but other season is good as well. I learned to be a part of their team or working as a team as well as enhancing my ability to facing some strategic problems. The management is all good. They are all kind to their staff.
What is written in Marriott manual / Employee book is not been followed by the management team which is the root cause of a stressful and not a happy work place. Discrimination is encouraged by EHK and the General manager
I love to work there. My job experience is good over here in which i get all the knowledge and skill related to customer service experience. Management over there has very good communication with other team members
