Room Attendant (Ancien employé) – Kingston, ON – 11 avril 2017
Throughout my time at the Marriot, I cleaned rooms. Each day your given a list of rooms that you are to clean for the day. You have a time limit of half an hour to make beds, dust, clean out showers or bathtubs. Things missing from the room had to be replaced. Besides cleaning, you are also interacting with the guests. The job itself wasn't bad .
I worked here as a room attendant. I would not recommend. The pay was poor, the supervisor and the management was poor. The pay here was minimum wage while other places were getting above. This place is just all around unprofessional.

A typical day at work is receiving the daily reports from the managerial housekeeping staff. My day-to-day routine consists of cleaning 16 rooms in 8 hours which requires me to be well organised in all aspects of my job. The work atmosphere is positive and friendly. One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is working on my own as I learn how to manage my time wisely.

Constant bullying and harassment from senior housekeepers. High school drama and rumour spreading on a daily basis..Management let it continue without taking appropriate action. Turnover rate was ridiculous...work environment was toxic. Union protects lazy ppl. I have never worked with that many whiners ever. The job itself was great but the workplace bs soured it for me. i only worked full time for 5 months the rest of the time we were laid off except for the lazy senior housekeepers that got all the hours but complained about working so much
Free lunch, work by yourself
Laid off more than you work, toxic work environment, drama, questionable management
