I enjoyed working here. Management made an effort to make employees feel seen and heard. The hours are decent, I mostly worked 3pm-11pm. Sometimes working with customers can be draining.
As with any job, can be draining
My boss always gave days off when requested which was convenient. Felt like high school every now and then. I came to work to work though so I generally wasn’t bothered by the “cliques” and draMa. Met some cool people in the kitchen. It was a decent job.
This facility was once a great one. However the building is VERY outdated. There’s no benefit or advancement within this company. Guests prefer not to stay at this facility, so there isn’t any tips. The only value is Marriott experience and the Marriott discount.
No benefits, no valuable wages, no room for growth

Courtyard is a family environment. Everyone is collaborative to make sure guests needs are met. They are very flexible with schedules and understand that life happens. The General Manager is loving, honest and cares for his employees.
Overall, my experience at my workplace was positive. However, there was alot of resentment and issues between employees and the managers. In addition, the harmony between coworkers varied and the hotel could be very cliquey. In addition, I was promised the opportunity to move positions and cross-train but with my time there it never happened. This is probably a more suitable job for people in college or just coming out of. As long as you can maintain a professional demeanor, even when being screamed at by guests, you will do fine.
Free lunches? But we never got them
10 minute breaks never happened, forced to change my time sheet or be written up, management was wishy washy
One of the best groups of people I have ever worked with. There are opportunities to earn bonuses, and everyone gets along seamlessly. I have loved getting to know our "regular" guests, and I have made many amazing connections by working front desk. Yes, you will experience some abusive customers, but that is in every industry, and they make you appreciate the amazing guests so much more.
There is quite a bit of management turnover. Each new manager likes to bring in their own team, hence, you cannot feel secure in your position. For what is exactly expected of you, which is an amazing amount, you are paid in the 10.00 range In-and-our burger starts you at 13.00. And there is is lesss stress.
High visibility positions
Management inconsistency and very low rate of pay for what is expected of you.
I worked happily at the courtyard in Pullman for a little over two years where I was a part of the best team I’ve had in my hotel experience. Our corporate office on the other hand threw us under the bus on multiple occasions. The property managers excelled in everything they did which was a great to learn from by watching or helping.
