Great work-life balance
Certified Research Analyst (Ancien employé) –  Washington, DC18 août 2019
The company has a great work-life balance, but be prepared to work hard to move up in a metric-based environment. Hard work does not go unnoticed here.
Points positifs
Free Lunches, Gym, Trainer, Fruit, Snacks

Great place to grow your career
Research Director (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON21 février 2019
I started at the company in an entry-level position and with a lot of hard work, was able to progress into a leadership role. The company typically gives back what you put into it.
I was offered a lot of opportunities because I worked hard for and asked for them, but also they became available - a lot of it is about timing.
The entry-level positions can be a grind, but you will gain valuable experience that you can take with you to other positions in your career. Use every day as an opportunity to learn!
My advice for anyone at CoStar is to be transparent with your manager to ensure they know your career goals and what resources you need to be successful. They want to help you succeed as much as you, but they're not mind-readers!

Great pay & benefits but micromanaged
Researcher (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON18 juillet 2018
The pay is unbeatable, especially considering the fact that there is great work-life balance. You come in at 8:30 & leave at 5 - never have to work over time. Entry level pay itself is from CAD $50,000-$65,000. There's alot of micromanagement though. Management only cares about high productivity & high productivity only. They never put themselves in your shoes & just expect you to be working like you're a machine.
Points positifs
Benefits & Salary
Points négatifs
Heavily micromanaged

bad environment
Research Associate (Ancien employé) –  Ontario16 décembre 2017
Call centre Job. CRE professionals do not respect CoStar for good reason. Stealing data and selling it back to clients for a crazy high amount. I have plateaued with no chance for advancement and I have been working at CoStar for less than one year. Do not recommend working here.

Fast and Frequent Sales Staff Turnover
Senior Account Executive (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON23 août 2017
It is incredible with the amount of time, money and effort that CoStar expels on training new Account Executives, that the success rate is barely 10% after the first year.

Complete waste of time
Don't work there! (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON30 décembre 2015
Disorganized company, asking for irrelevance as they don't know what they're doing. Put it this way. If the management was so successful, why would they quit Toronto's red hot real estate market to sell software?

Results do not lie. That's why their job ad is permanently "sponsored ad' everywhere.

Read the negative reviews everywhere online. Every now and then they clean up but all the negs come back & their ratings only drop.
Points positifs
Visible as they need to keep advertising
Points négatifs
It's not real deal!!! That's they they're desparate.
