The chef is amazing, other managers not so much. They have their special ppl which gets more hours, less workload and so on. FOH is very lazy and keep pushing the work for the next shift. Gossip is also a nightmare.

Laid me off due to shortage of work or so they said I got sick because of mold in they're rig. Brought it up to management then got laid off not long after will not go back. Your just a number they don't care.

Hired to cook and ended up running their business doing everything from lots of paperwork, no staff support, appliances didn’t work and were never repaired. Worst company

Claim they support their staff however the turnover is incredibly high and they higher people who just don’t care about their employees at all. Do not work here if you wish to keep your sanity.

Fun but at the same time exhausting

Seniority, the dietary aides are dominant, no proper training. Work as an early cook, too much work load, They need to train new hired employee for specific period. Low salary.

Worst job I've ever had. You feel like a number, not a person, and management only cares about issues if it involves them. Constantly revolving door for employees.

It was pretty good, they treated me pretty well. Pay could of been higher, but that's a cooks life. Benefits were decent. Kind managers, I was treated fairly.

My experience was unique, the unit itself was special. We catered food for Google DeepMind, therefore, the environment was different from any other unit.

The boarding process was too long , I was working on a extreme cold temperature environment with practically no room to store things cause the area it's been shared with other workers who has similar duties in the same compound, the manager got me fired in a very short period of time , they offered 18 dollars the hour and later they downgrade to 17 dollars, I don't recommend this job they don't work with you instead they work against you.

Fun and fast pace

Fun work for the winter seasonal, get to watch oliers games for free, management was quick and responsive to issues, you get to work a variety of stations from gourmet to consesion to food prep all the way to cooking and preparing food for the oilers team themselves.

Often lack of direction, confused management, no clear vision, however some very hard working people are employed by Compass, some of the hardest workers i've met.

I love how fast paste it is. There were some down times as to not be so overwhelmed. Coworkers were great to work with and management was a blast to work for.

They do not take safety of the staff seriously. A major safety issue was brought up and instead of doing an investigation on it. They stated to "Do what I say or you are fired". Not a safe place to work

I started with compass over 6 weeks ago and still have not received my pay I do not know how this company expects their employees to be able to pay there bills, I would highly recommend not working for this company it took me having to threaten labour board to get any information

Fast-paced, Structured Environment with good opportunity for pay

A typical day I had at work started at 10am and ended at 8pm. It involved coming in assessing the daily menu and figuring out what needed to be done for today's meal as well as what prep was needed for tomorrow's or the day afters. I learned how to prep and cook a meal for 2000. The workplace culture was very formal in the front end of the house, in front of the customer, but very informal in the back of house amongst the cooks. Management was always hit-or-miss, some years you had great managers, others you had ones who tried to pinch pennies and micromanage to look good in front of their bosses. The most enjoyable part of the job was the camaraderie between the cooks.

This is the worst place I’ve ever worked. Dirtiest kitchen ever! It’s only cleaned twice a year. the head chef is sexist and has no respect he will put you down every single day instead of saying good job. Us as employees don’t get any regognition. Management does nothing and only tells you what you want to hear. The only thing I miss is my co-workers.

Worked there as a second cook for silvertip mine. Was a great crew. Early morning shifts. Had alot of fun n many laughs. A bit of heavy lifting on grocery day but was great exercise. Thanks compass canada for a great experience. Merry Christmas to the crews n staff.
