I work with the compass group all almost 3 years. my coworkers are friendly and helpful to each other. free lunch or coffee the manager is also very honest and friendly

I don't recommend to work for this company

The boarding process was too long , I was working on a extreme cold temperature environment with practically no room to store things cause the area it's been shared with other workers who has similar duties in the same compound, the manager got me fired in a very short period of time , they offered 18 dollars the hour and later they downgrade to 17 dollars, I don't recommend this job they don't work with you instead they work against you.

Less salary, more workload

This place has a Stressful and toxic work environment. Will push you to work overtime but unpaid and will call you on the weekends to work even though you’re not on call. No growth at all with this company.

Not good experience

Not a positive experience working with management with Compass Group Canada. Bad behaviours ain't dealt with; setting toxic environment and morale for other staff; bad vibes, tight working space; next to zero or not training; too many mind games; no proper staff lounge, staff eating right next to cardboard boxes.

Worst company

Worst company to be employed for. The pay is next to minimum wage. Terrible company. Too much mangers. This company took over for Aramark. Aramark is a better company to work for.

Unfortunately a lot of discrimination from management and HR does little to help with this and protects management. Colleagues were great. Straight forward work but, lots of policies to follow. Felt unseen by the people at the top.

Overworked and Underpaid should be their mission statement

CGC is cheap with their employees. They will stretch your hours and refuse you overtime at any cost. They will continuously add more work to your plate, even once you've maxed out. I had to wait 2 and a half years for a raise and never got a performance review after asking several times. I only got a raise because myself and a group of my colleagues wrote an open letter to management that the employees we supervise were making more than us. I've met people who have worked at Compass in the same role as myself for 10 years and make barely more than I do. I highly recommend you look elsewhere. There's a reason CGC is a revolving door...

I enjoy my time here

Its pretty decent job. But hospitality is never a permanent job. We were closed for more than five months and it was hard to be without a job. Management is considerate. They understand your situation and help you as much as they can.

Very friendly workplace that encourages growth

The senior management of this company encourages growth and therefore allows people to learn and develop their skills. There are training programs and processes that the company has put in place to help associates grow

Good workplace, fast pace environment.

Compass is a good company but also pays you minimum for doing more than your suppose to. I as a manager now get 16 after fighting for wages to go higher instead of minimum because I had a bigger work load. The environment is good if around good people. Would recommend if you want this as a half day job. Shifts are between 7am and 1pm depending on your title and job. Benefits only apply after 6 months. Free food comes of pay check unless you opt out but still pay out of pocket. Good benefits for spouse and kids. Take a lot off the pay check though and pays bi weekly. Heavy work load and fast pace environment. Need to be able to serve and work with teens. Also requires vulnerable sector check. Training paid and required upon hire.

Good place to work

Depending on your sector you will wish you had more hours in the day. Very fast-paced and demanding. Management fairly compensates hard work and promotions occur frequently.

Fast paced workplace

Worked on a short term project. Interview process was straight forward. Work is fast paced but sometimes not very collaborative. If you enjoy working independently this is an ideal place to work.

Awful

Terrible communication with the actual boss. She would always have others do her dirty work. She would promise you something and go back on it. Also she has no sympathy for ppl with children.

Disguising Management

Worst Management that I have ever gone through my career. It is like being under the manager's shoes. Even the rules keep on changing every day..Co-workers are the best people but the managers are the worst among all.Probably not even a single employee who is working with me has stayed in the company for not more than 4 months. Not even a single thing is done to motivate employees

its good. no pressure from management, just the associates/clients are nasty. alwaays come complaining, never say thank you! or congradulate or reward their staff

most of the employees have no training in food safety

The employees are amazing but get paid minimum wage for all the hard work the do.That includes the cooks. The upper management doesn't understand how important customer service is and jeopardizes by cutting staff hours.

Interting environemnt as it ranged from properties throughout Canada in all provinces

Excellent engaging environment in retail, hospitals, large entertainment complexes and schools in all Canadian Provinces. Team members are excellent ambassadors of the company.

Very poor management

Very poor and always rotating management causes a lot of stress and problems. A lot of abuse, a lot of breach of policies and laws, and problems with recieving proper pay on time. Worked there about 3 months always bending over backwards yet getting reprised or talked down too. No formal training and you are left to fend for yourself.
