You have to work hard if you want to succeed . Safety is their number one priority combined with quality. They have good benefits. People are friendly and helpful .

What is the best part of working at the company?Most manufacturing equipment is in good working order.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Employment anxiety is always at the back of your head. Supervisors that have never been in the trade that dictate to somebody with 30 plus years how to do there job with out even understanding the basics.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Work environment was good and bad. I had some good co workers but there was loss of communication between the tradesperson and high management. High management needs to get from behind their desk and go on the floor and talked to grass roots employees on the floor. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Typically good communication with fellow co workers. Some co workers would keep secrets among themselves and would leave out pertinent information that is needed. So keep on your toes and document everything in your own notes to protect yourself in case management decides to investigate problems.

Knowledgeable and helpful senior engineers. Great for internships.

Gained valuable experience as an engineering intern. Senior engineers were approachable and always willing to provide help. Plenty of support provided for project-related tasks.

Good company, pay above average Overtime, good benefits, good place to learn and grow. But at any crisis circumstances they can lay off people, busy most of the time, very fun team

Good place to work if you have the educational background for it

I was offered a job after my Aerospace program ended, and early on I had a clear grasp on what was expected and how to do my job to the point where I was doing extra work to support my colleagues regularly.I made my interest known to my manager that I wanted to expand my knowledge and grow within the company for the many years I was with them and I was told that it would happen, until recently, when the discussion came up again and I was told that I wasn't in a position to grow and that they would be looking for someone with an educational background for the position I was interested in.Finding out that upward mobility was impossible showed me the extra work I had put in over the years was not valued.

Good people and a safe work environment. a lot of opportunities to learn new process.it's a big place with a lot of people working 24/7 . lot of challenges but overall a great place to work in

Terrible management

Save yourself the stress, loss of family work\life balance and avoid at all costs. Used to be a great company to work for but new management is toxic. Terrible high stress environment with no support and constant finger pointing. Management blame everyone but themselves, low management skillsets, absolutely no confidence in management etc.

Good place to work

Good company but opportunity for advancement is limited.Working at the airport is an active job and requires mobility and quick thinking.The company is on contract with the airport so it is hard to be assured of any job security past the current contract

A generally unpleasant work environment with little information or training

I've worked as an engineer for over 30 years much of it on contract with several employers. Collins - Oakville was probably my least pleasant work experience to date. They have a very rigid and unique way of doing things and much of their analysis involves using older tools that are essentially 'black boxes' . There is no allowance made for learning to use and understand their in-house tools, many of which are not intuitive and you have serious doubts as to whether anybody there really understands them and why they spit out what they do. The work environment is not particularly collaborative, there is limited useful communication or direction. They don't really seem to value engineering and while there are some dedicated hard-working people there you don't get the feeling that anyone really likes it. The facility itself is old and overcrowded and whemn I was there parking was a major issue.

Great place to work!

The product requires extensive knowledge in the various technical disciplines in use and as a result ensures 100% job satisfaction! The employees are professional and care about what they do!

Good benefits but new hires are not getting paid as much as they use to

Good benefits but wages are starting to lag behind the industry. Most of the people on the floor are great to work with but theres not much to learn if you are experience machinist. Most jobs are pretty much the same day in and day out, the only excitement is when do the same job is put on a different machine.

Old employees taking financial advantage of new ones. Overtime only for "friends"

Lack of job security, Unequal treatment of new employees in comparison to old ones. Ridicules favoritism for some people. Lack of organization. Lack of flexibility with movement for nightshift to dayshift. You are stuck at night for years. No attempt from management for correction of "gangs" of old employees disrupting real change.

Way too much politics. Management will tell you everything is okay with you when it's not. Great pay worst culture of being two-faced from management.

I would call it the best aerospace company in Ontario with best benefits and pay scale. Work environment is great with immense things to learn in machine shop.

Collins Aerospace should be at the top of your list to work.

During my time at Collins Aerospace I was very impressed by how they put people first, with great training and processes, this is a top employer, they care.Benefits, pay are excellent as well, I would recommend this company as a must work for.I left due to the travel and commute as I live east of Toronto, otherwise I would not think of leaving.

Productive and fun workplace

The time in Collins Aerospace was worth it. The work force is full of people of high calibre. There was so much achieved professionally and there was also time to have work lunches during the time of contract. I totally recommend this organization and will go back if asked.
