During my time at Collins Aerospace I was very impressed by how they put people first, with great training and processes, this is a top employer, they care.Benefits, pay are excellent as well, I would recommend this company as a must work for.I left due to the travel and commute as I live east of Toronto, otherwise I would not think of leaving.
Cafeteria, Clean, Safe and People are first.
None, its really a good place
The time in Collins Aerospace was worth it. The work force is full of people of high calibre. There was so much achieved professionally and there was also time to have work lunches during the time of contract. I totally recommend this organization and will go back if asked.
Free Coffee, Occasionally Company Lunches
Management is doing their best to handle this economic downturn. Hopefully very soon we emerge as strong as before! Very good work environment. Management should try to reduce the number of meetings and let people work on specific task one at a time, review after certain time period, succeed and proceed with next one. Trying to get everything done at same time doesnt yeild any good results.
Good pay and benefits
Politics not different from anyother company, but its the co-workers does the politics not the management.

This is one of those places you need to be ready mentally to work in. Excellent pay and benefits, and even if you are not an Aerospace nerd like me, you will often find yourself learning something new each day. It's one of those places where after a year you may not even know 1-5% of what is actually going on in that facility. Great senior leadership team, great management team and great coworkers. The only real issue is that if you don't specifically work with some people, you might never meet them. If I could go back there, I would take a job there for sure.
Awesome culture, excellent people, and a great place to learn new things, really great place to work if you can handle the heat.
Departments are very much silo's, interesting but very specific work, Sometimes politics plays a role in how things are done.
No management skills, lots of politics and favorisim. No room for advancement neither voice your opinion. If you are looking for a long term work and grow with the company you better go look somewhere else.
Good benefits. Clean office space
Needs lots of improvement in management skills also stablishing the work structure and culture.
it is great company to work for. lots of benefits such as 100% medical and dental. eye care. Great RRSP plan up to 8.5 % of salary company match RRSP plan.
I learned alot about Mazak machines and measuring tools that I had never seen before. Bore guages and all equipment calibrated regularly to ensure my quality of work was above standard.
great lunces and supportive management
contract job no benefits
My job was not needed. Many of the older employees would comment how bad the place had become and others would always complain. They tried to hire more people to cover how disorganized they were and then laid everyone off anyways.
Pay was great
Love this company. Truly an honour and a pleasure to br working with an amazing team which helps me learn about landing gears and how the process is being molded to final product
Not a lot of personal office space
Worked here on contract for 7 months before i was laid off. The company has amazing potential for careef development and growth. I gained a lot of beneficial technical skills. However, there was a lot of politics involved. Management was very weak, and did not provide any direction. My team members were the absolute worst. I was never left a lone to do my job, someone is always interferring.
I worked at Collins Aerospace about a year on contract as continuous Improvement Engineer. It's a great place to work where an engineer can apply all principles of mechanical, electrical and industrial engineering. The workplace is full with challenges. New Management was not good enough which led to bad scenarios for the company and employees.
This was a contract job for me. I had a 6 month contract working for Collins Aerospace. They added an additional 2 months until the project was completed. I would go back to work there in a heartbeat if another similar contract position became available.
Only money is good . Every machinist here who's been here for more than 5 years pretends they are real machinist, entitled and bunch of babies who still not happy with 50 an hour doing nothing compare to a real machinist
It was an excellent opportunity and provided career growth; Enjoyed the day to day challenges; Good people to work with. No two days were the same; Work culture was very regulatory because of the nature of the business; The most enjoyable part of the job was the team environment.
Enjoy the opportunity of working here
