The overall workplace is really nice, coworkers are amazing and you work as a team with most people. The costumers on the other hand are the worst people you will ever deal with in your life. 60 % of customers are selfish lazy and act entitled, they treat you like garbage, I have been verbally assaulted and harassed at work many times and always had to take the customers side even tho it shouldn't work like that. If you want to work as a sales associate at Cobs get a good THERAPIST or just save your mental health and don't work there. The intelligence of half of the customers there really amazes me and the way they try to cheat the system by complaining that the bread was sliced wrong or there was one small hole in the bread and they had to throw it away is disgusting because there are homeless people out there who are starving and cobs customers would throw away bread that was sliced " wrong " it's absolutely disgusting how half of Cobs customers act and are. The only positive thing from this job would be some of the baked goods you could bring home after your shift and coworkers.

As a Part-Time student, I absolutely loved working at Cobs. Extremely flexible hours and very friendly staff. They do an excellent job with work-life balance and is a very fun place to work.

Working here is definitely not what I expected. I honestly expected another job like a fast food restaurant where you work and the management takes advantage of their team and doesn’t appreciate their workers. But this is the complete opposite experience. I’ve had a few jobs since I was 16 and I always found myself toward the back of the group or just kind of always behind the flow. I didn’t know how much I could actually succeed and how much of great worker I actually am until Cobs. at my location my boss is the greatest boss I have ever had. My boss not only taught me along the way of her great team many different skills but she also taught me how important and appreciated I am. I feel so lucky and confident to be apart of her team to make this location a great success. The bakers and the sales staff are there to help you when and support you when ever needed. I cannot express how much I like working here, it has definitely shaped me to be a stronger person.

They are very tough on you for your speed and accuracy, the work friends I made are awesome. There is not a lot of room for flexibility. I recommend if you like baking, no so much if you're still learning.

I have only been here 8 months and I love it! The owner is a great people person. I had left a huge company after over 35 years of working many positions, until I finally said to myself enough was enough. I needed to enjoy going to work again, loving the job, not being stressed all of the time and loving the people you work for. It was a scary step to take after so many years not knowing if this job existed let alone finding a job. But I did. This Cobs location has given me everything I wanted in this stage of my life, non stressful environment, close to home, a Mon-Fri work week, steady hours and excellent staff and an excellent boss! They pay is not close to what I was making in my last job, but it’s descent enough.

Management doesn't know what they are doing, very passive in dealing with problems, troubled employees. The schedule was atrocious, many mistakes made in the schedule and some employees wouldn't receive it because the schedule was sent out by text. No training. just thrown in and expected to know what to do. Management couldn't delegate tasks. Disgruntled employees were just put up with, no disciplinary action taken. Also why were there even disgruntled employees? Very poor culture/atmosphere. Only good thing about the job was all the free bread. I was given attitude by a long standing employee and did not tolerate it and because i stood up for myself, i was alienated from conversation, receiving help on what to do. Worst employer I have ever had. Would not recommend.

Though the job was at times physically demanding, I felt supported by my management and it was easy to make a good relationship with coworkers due to the positive work environment and culture created by my boss. Baking was not my dream field to work in but at the time it was a great second choice, to be working in such a positive work environment. Would recommend anyone to work here.

They expect you to multitask in many different areas but the management at my location was really good and they appreciated and showed their appreciation for the staff quite frequently.

No supervisor or management in store even on holidays. No scheduled breaks even when working 8+ hour shifts. The hours given depend on if they like you or your hours will be cut with no excuse. Most coworkers are nice but I have encountered about 1-2 unpleasant and rude coworkers that have been reported to management. Management never did anything about it. It needs a lot of organizing and structure.

Good work environment. Lots of physical activities. Good training. Friendly people to work with. Speed and accuracy is mandatory. Clean as you go type of work.

I miss working for the company, I enjoy the fresh baked bread eveday.. I enjoyed the regular customers. And I like how at the end of the day what is leftover all the products goes to different organizations..

At first i thought the job was good and all but they expect you to know everything. I only work there one day a week and they want me to know everything. I was fired because they said i was too slow and i thought i was doing a pretty decent job. This was the first job that i was ever fired from so it makes me feel bad. Nothing like these has ever happened to me. The few people i worked with was nice. When i was fired they didn't give much noticed.

I worked here during the Christmas season and I'm thankful they didn't keep me on any longer than the seasonal position I applied for. They are not welcoming and make you feel like you can't do anything right. I knew I was a seasonal employee, but rather than telling me I was done, they just stopped giving me shifts. I would not recommend working here.

Working at Cob's Bread is the last choice of a person's career because it's over night, low pay, and you are treated like a machine instead of a person. It's really for young people who start out having no experience or education to work as a baker as the instruction is easy to follow. The employers seem stressed out because they also have to work over night. They care only about their production and sales, policy and campaign. They don't care if the employee gets sick or need a day off.

I cried every night before work here. It was the most awful job I’ve ever had. The owner would ask me inappropriate questions and say mean or inappropriate things. He treated us all very poorly and I’d never go back no matter what.

Could be a great place, but presumably because of my disabilities, I was treated poorly. Regional manager treated me inappropriately and upper management crowded every action I took. Lots of micromanagement. I was told one thing and then another. It was very frustrating. Wish them the best, but I will never shop at a cobs again.

-50 out of 10The manager bullies and yells at you IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS, he doesn't help up front when we need help. I have NEVER seen him wear a mask up front and he touches the bread with his bare hands.Constantly contradicts what he tells you one day.

It was as close as I will ever come to a dream job. The staff were exceptional people, the duties of the job were anything I could hope for in my position. It was the absolute best workplace I've seen in action first hand.

This place is absolutely awful to work for. The new manager came in and made it a dreadful place to work. He’s rude and doesn’t do anything. He sits in the back all day and NEVER helps sales staff at the front. Completely useless. Has a sense of entitlement. Thinks he’s the most important person in the world. Can’t even walk to the front to grab a pen. Yells at sales staff to bring it to him as if he’s better then everyone. Bakers are never held accountable for their actions and allowed to walk all over management. Over heard the manager talking about staff members he didn’t like, and was always aggressive and never pleasant to be around. He doesn’t know how to probably bag buns, or ice scones but acts like he knows everything. Manager is overall just an awful person in my opinion. The manager is a power hungry bully, and staff was always walking on egg shells around him. Almost all the staff at tuxedo quit because he’s that rude and awful.

I was a baker at this location. The work is very strenuous. I found that my hands were in constant agony, even after acouple days of rest. Management does not allow you to fluctuate positions to give your hands/muscles a break. The shifts can be from 3am-12pm or 6am-2pm, they also do not fluctuate this. If you are on a 3am shift, you will be doing that for weeks at a time. This will cause you to be increasingly tired and work-life balance will be completely destroyed. When I was first hired, I was given the option to either take a lunch or to leave 30mins early. At first I took a lunch, but learned fast that it was frowned upon by the other bakers so I would try to leave 30mins early. In some cases, leaving early was NOT possible. I believe that my performance would have benefitted hugely if there was no stigma around the lunch break (or as they called it, a "time out") There is also a lot of favouritism happening at this location. Only certain employees are allowed to speak up and speak their minds while other employees get the grunt work and if they stood up for themselves and asked questions, they get fired. I was trained that certain positions do certain jobs, but as soon as I would change positions I would be forced to do things that other positions were responsible for. (eg. If there are 2 people processing, the ovens person gets help with doing pizzas. When I was on ovens, I would ask for help and that is when I would get told "that's YOUR job.") They think that telling you to hustle, is a form of training when really all it does is completely drain your motivation - plus...
