Is the culture to uplift and retain all employees, or just those mid-upper management people? Do front line workers get the short end of the stick?

  • No, the culture is not very healthy whereby employees should be retained and uplifted in their jobs and where those employees should feel like they can have lasting careers in the municipal environment. Basically, unless you are in an upper management position, do not expect your role to last and never expect it to increase to something more. To answer the other question, YES front line workers do get the short end of the stick and are often the ones who do the majority of work (typical, old school municipal approach in Ontario...nothing changes).
