Working at CINTAS was life changing. In good ways it made me realize what I wanted most out of a career and it provided a very suitable salary for the role I was in and room to move up. The bad was the hours, and unfortunately it was a deal breaker. You are working 15 hour days only getting paid for 8 hours / 40 hours a week. In the summer it gets really good due to less work, less stops but in the winter it is brutal. your slinging mats and uniforms 50 times / 4 days a week

Work is quite stressful as a Service rep but you could make enough money to sort your bills.
The extra day off in a week goes a long way coupled with the extra bonuses and commissions.

High expectations. Corporate Culture needs to be better with Management.

You need to realize that you cant be so easy on the senior guys... don't give the easy routes to them. Keep it balanced.

Very fast paced stressful job, management leaves EVERYTHING up to the drivers. You have to do your own price increases annually, and contract signings

Absolute worst company to work for. The Halifax branch is the most micro managed environment you could ever dream of. Hard, dirty work changing maggoty bar towels and soaking wet mats.

As a route sales representative, it is supposed to be four 10 hour days per week. Depending on your route, you might be working more hours. Also depending on your route, the job can be very physically demanding, coming home exhausted most days, resulting in little quality time outside of work during the week. Management is all about making more profits, which often results in giving more work to already over-worked employees.

Co-workers and wages/benefits made going to work bearable but management made it difficult. Although I was there for many years and built a good rapport with customers, management forced to into handing in the 2 weeks' notice.

Managers are not helpful. Sit down all day and collect on your new business. Always changing prices. Some trucks are poorly taken care of. It's not a 4 day week. The Friday you think you have of you have to come in do paperwork, 1-2 hour team meeting. Back stabbing people. One route might get paid more then another. Work for 3 months and if you don't see a change in your pay....get out

amazing 4 day work weeks giving lots of work life balance. plenty of overtime at the moment. management is not the greatest but they are working on it.

I worked at a branch that was a company called GK. Once cintas bought that company the branch quickly changed from employees first to managements numbers first.

You may think 4 day work weeks are great and they are. The only problem being you could be help up for any type of reason and instead of a 10 hour day you come in at 14 hours. Not only can you not have a life outside of your working days but you will get in trouble for working overtime.


That company is a joke and if you're applying to Hamilton you would be better off selling your soul to profit Instead of selling it for cintas to profit.

job is easy to do great customers.
managment is not favourable and very unorganized.

the culture is nonexistent and it they are all about themselves.

my favorite part of the job was being my own boss and taking care of my customers on my own accord. but the lack of leadership in the comany impeeds me from providing the service my cutsomers expect and i am not willing to sacrifce my values for the benefit of the company.

If you do not enjoy selling products you will not enjoy this job. Pay matches work performed. Corporate culture is good with lots of incentives to help motivate.

Weekly meetings , fast paced, long hours, many customers to service mon- fri , now is called CINTAS as it was recently bought out. Good strong team with great work ethic, would help each other cover and complete routes in bad weather. Lots of prizes to win if performance excellence was achieved. Worked in the winter matt service side. Great for people who enjoy being active and building and maintaining relationships with customers.

Most people are hired on a temp basis through the winter, from October to May usually. If you can survive the winter (and I mean literally), then you might have a chance on getting a permanent mats position. Hard to balance work/life unless you're willing to devote your life to the place. Speaking french is a massive game changer, unless you're fluent you might have a hard time fitting in. Spartan attitude required, read between the lines.
Would not recommend unless you have no other options.

A typical day at work would consist of arriving to work and finding out if there are any changes to your route, checking to make sure you have waiting emails or messages from management or clients. Resolve those or figure out how your going to resolve those on top of your work load in the day. Check your route over to make sure you have all your delivery's and bulk items, and if you don't load them up or find out where they are and make plans to deliver them later. Start your delivers for the day and find out what customers need while your on site. Organize the lockers and bulk item areas to make them look neat and tidy. Carry in cloths by hand or with buggy and arrange them by locker number. Collect all soiled garments at each location and check for repairs needing to be done. Take those to the van and hand bomb them in. Speak with the clients and employees trying to up sell products we have available. After the day is done with go back and organize your dirties for the night shift and unload required garments into the the specials carts. Once you have cleaned up your truck organized your paper work and called your customers back. Check to make sure there is no special deliveries to take with you on your way home.

Great people to work with but you are mainly on your own all day except for the customers you visit. There is a HUGE learning curve and you are expected to learn quickly and be on your own after a few weeks. You are expected to increase your sales through selling customers things they don't actually need in their first aid kits. You are also expected to learn the other products the company offers in terms of safety like gloves, respiratory equipment, glasses etc. This as well on your own. The pay is very low for what they expect. They also track your every move as to where and what you are doing. You drive around in a set territory in a van that as well you are expected to keep up inventories in order to make sales. In order to increase sales you need to bring on new customers, sell items customers don't need, sell safety products, - which you have to learn about yourself. You are warrant to the elements as you work outside part of the time getting product from the van. The customers rely on you to know the OHS guidelines which you have to research and figure out for yourself what is expected. You mainly learn from the other reps who all have their own way of doing things. No consistency and no procedures in place to ensure you are following the OHS guidelines. You do set your own hours so if you start the day early you can finish early (around 3-3:30 pm) but you have to keep up with emails, dropping off catalogues to new customers, extra sales in order to make better money. I worked for G&K for 3 years as an RSR then was promoted to Route Specialist. This job is very hard on the body and mind. Recently i informed my manager that i am suffering from chronic wrist and back pain. The following Monday i was fired without explanation. Turns out they let me go in fear that i would file a WCB claim. I'm currently in the process of applying for ei and dealing with the labour board for wrongful dismissal.

Would only recommend working here short term to save up cash. Long term employment will result in permanent damage to your body as well as stress/ depression.

This job is very hard on the body, mentally aswell. must be physically fit. Must be able to deal with irate customers daily. Co workers are the reason we show up every day.
