It’s very stressful to work as FSR in the branch. It always short of people and high turnover rate. With no teller branch, advisor will need to stand in the lobby helping out with transactions. At the same time, need to have meetings to meet targets.

Soul Sucking and Depressing

If you are into becoming a corporate wage cuck for the rest of your life I highly recommend CIBC. I thought this job might be interesting and be a stepping stone for greater things. It turned out to be repetitive tasks and a kind of depressing work environment. I mean people put on there cringe fake customer face on and went about there day. But when the customers were gone it quickly became obvious that no one wanted to be there. One story comes to mind, there was an individual retiring from her position and it was her last day at work. There was a cake in the lobby area and it was after 5 pm. Everyone was trying to rush out of there as it was Friday. The manager said this person gave 40 years to the company, you all can give minutes to congratulate her. It was awkward and I believe perfectly illustrates that these corporations don't care about you. Their sole goal is to squeeze productivity out of you for the lowest possible cost. With automation coming and customer service roles being replaced with impersonal apps and state of the art atm's, you find customers becoming increasingly frustrated with the service being provided. These jobs are not going to be as secure as you think in the future. Honestly, I dreaded every day at CIBC and it gave me severe anxiety and mental health problems. I strongly urge potential applicants to visualize what their life would be like working there. If you are doing it to project to success onto your peers and family, stop and think a moment.

underpaid, overworked, moving to digital banking

first few years were great, then they restructured and changed management and it became a miserable work environment that only cared about shareholders instead of employees or customers.

Great way to learn how to deal with customer complaint and issues. I learn how to offload my stress and learn how to be patient with transaction and working with challenging colleague.
