This restaurant is one of the worst restaurants I ever worked in, awful management , within my first month 7 kitchen staff got fired, lot of staff walked out, they dont care about you or your personal life, they will promise you lots and you will get nothing,
the senior chef treating people like slaves, when I said something about it they terminated me , end of the story DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, YOU WILL REGRET IT

Fun but also serious environment

A typical day at work would be coming in stock up your station, I personally learned to cut more comfortably on the job.The hardest part of the job was handling two stations at a time. But overall it's a great job in the sense of fun place to move forward in life.

working at chop is very fun. The staff is amazing they treat each other like family. A normal day at chop is pretty busy. The hardest part about the job is getting the dishes ready for the next user.

You need to be able to work with little help from management in serving positions while maintaining excellent guest relations. I am one of the servers with the best reviews from guests, assisting other servers and bartenders also falls under my responsibility.

A typical day, I would go in about 30 min before my shift to get us set up for the day/night. Setting up and cleaning everything so I knew we would be set for a busy day. I learned so much at chop, knowledge of seat rotation as hostess, knowledge of open table, knowledge on proper food temps, lots of knowledge on wine and liquor, and I learned proper knowledge on proper prep levels for sales.
The management there is like family, super easy to talk too and very approachable.
The workplace culture is very face paced and hands on
The hardest part of the job was on event nights because there were so many reservations and people we had to accommodate for.
The most enjoyable part was the family and friends I made there.

Chop Steakhouse is very accommodating to your schedule, however, advancing positions will take at minimum a year to a year and a half. The atmosphere is typically relaxed making it a good place for you to begin working.

No room for growth

I have worked at chop for a year and a half now and have been stuck on the same station the entire time, when people who started long after I did have now become supervisors. There is no room for growth within those walls.
Also the head chef doesn't listen when you ask for more hours because one shift a week will not help cover squat of your day to day living needs.
A year ago I would have said Chop is an incredible place to work... Now... Do not bother.

mostly disorganized, be willing to work hard and smart. Management does not really know their workers. A very friendly place to work. Most of the kitchen supervisors have minimum culinary knowledge.

okay if you're a student or this is a side part time job would never recommend if you actually needed money regularly because hours aren't guaranteed so not a good choice if you actually have things to pay for.

Some workers were not friendly, and manager was bias to certain people who applied to the job due to their looks and not their capabilities. Hostess position is easy, you great the customers and kindly bring them to their table and clean up after them once they leave.

It's a very expensive place, I was surprised how much they charge, but the food is amazing.

The boss was very reluctant to give formal recoginition, even though I'm very qualified. Some of the supervisors are lazy and rude. The most a regular employee can receive for benefits is 30% off on food. And the expectations are super high, they don't let you leave at your end time, only when everything is complete for the day. Which can really be emotionally and physically draining and inconvient from day to day.
