Trustworthy company to work for

I worked for Challenger Motor for years and honestly can confirm that they're a trustworthy employer who will take care of you as long as you work there. Never had a bad experience.

Points positifs

Trustworthy, good management, consistent schedule

Points négatifs

Challenging work, long hours

Productive

Good average company to work for,,,not great pay,,good equipment,,friendly atmosphere,,rated at 3 out of five because they don't have very long trips,,and u could wait a terminal without pay.

Nothing but lies..

Worked here for a few years and everything was terrible from the micromanaging in my department to the incredibly low pay. Their annual review process is a complete joke. They tell you to complete this ridiculous 20 page questionnaire, listing “ smart goals” are “ core values “ that you are working on. It’s virtually impossible to complete if you have job with the same day to day responsibilities. In the end I learned that they use it as ammunition so they can give you a pathetic .30 cents/ hour raise. I’ve since moved on and couldn’t be happier. For a company that says they put their people first, they really have so much to learn.

Great Place To Start Your Career , But Not For Veteran Drivers

It’s not the worst place to work. The company tries to offer drivers everything which can be a pro and a con. You’ll get free Sattellite Radio, brand new trucks, cafeteria, simulator training, etc. All the latest perks for a driver, but the pay is below average and the hours you’ll work will be at your limit. They have a breakdown department so if you’re broken down on the road it’s easy to reach someone to get you up and running. It’s just the pay they need to address. In some areas it’s ok. If you’re doing flatbed work you can make ok money. But with inflation hitting the economy your living expenses will eat into your pay check. I’ve been with them for 7years and will say this company has a lot of divisions for you to explore. You’ll just have to find something for your lifestyle.

Good company to work for if they just pay a bit bettet it would be perfect , other than that I have had no problems working here

All good , my only issue is beeing underpaid , Even Bison got a pay rise to between 53/59 cent per mile , I mean seriously ? Bison ?I believe we can be better than that but so far we are lower than that !Thats the only conn I got here

Points positifs

If you want to work a lot they will keep you busy

Points négatifs

The pay should be better

Pay is on the low side

Used to be okay to work for...not so much now dtiver takes on even more aork and less pay! Miles arr not consistent! Pay sucks and so do benefits especially short and long term and very expensive for shat your charged. Lost a lot of freight...pushed to roll!! Time home is not consistant either! If you have a heartbeat they are hiring!!

Points négatifs

Good for experience for new drivers.

The pay is garbage, think 35k/y if you're a brand new driver, but dispatch has been pretty good about things, especially if you go out of your way to communicate.Benefits are also a joke when compared to other companies too.Vehicle maintenance is amazing though.Be accurate with what you say and do though, otherwise you can and will be blamed for things. The trucks are miled out, think 2016's.Their dispatch system is simplified to the point where you don't even have to think.

great training losy pay.

great place to get training, but to advance, or earn more money, well lets just say there are people working there earning $21/h after 15 years. thats scarry, and disrespectfull, of the company to these people. they say they apreciate u, but to get ahead or get a raise, im not sure what u have to do. someone toled me u need to make friends, but what abot a job well done? works for work not to make friends, its something that may happen by the way. but job security and advancement shouldnt depend on it.

Low pay.

Good place to learn. Good people to work for.Great training program. They just don't pay well.I suppose if you lived in the truck and had no family you could do alright. You do get your own truck, and equipment is very nice.

Points positifs

Great equipment.

Points négatifs

Long hours, low pay.

They take advantage of new drivers limited experience

Long hours away from home more than promised. Not always paid properly. Days spent waiting in other parts of the country and USA to receive another load assignment. When calculated I was working for $12.00 or less most of the time.

Best company ever worked for

I am working with challenger about an year now.Really like working with them. No forced dispatch. 24*7 dispatch . Dedicated work Get paid for every extra job Get paid for waitings, live loads unloads, Customs waiting (if any)

Too much management unfair practises

Pay was average but constantly expected to switch hours around to accomodate their needs and never thanked for doing so. Benefits were expensive and no company contributions to rrsp. Way too much management. Lots of favoritism. Saw really good employees get fired and many that should have been fired are still there. Raises were non existant.
