Great Training

For a new guy, they offer great training, you will manage almost everything important as a truck driver. I still benefit from their training even I left a long time ago. They love short haul, 2 day job plus boarder crossing, no chance to get a big mileage. With entry level payment, you'll be surprised how less a class 1 driver can make.

Excellent training

There’s good training here and they really clearly care about their employees. Management checks in with you regularly and makes sure you have everything you need to be successful.

Points positifs

The teammembers you interact with are all great people too.

Points négatifs

You’re definitely checked in on sometimes, and for some people that can be challenging, for me it wasn’t an issue, your supervisors essentially are just making sure you’re good and on time.

Not good second time I worked there the money was better because I worked for an owner op but I just got burned out

What is the best part of working at the company?Well it’s a solid company. The equipment is well maintained What is the most stressful part about working at the company? You’re constantly being monitored. They don’t let you drive. It’s like someone is constantly looking over your shoulderWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company? Not great they have their own driving school so they have a lot of new drivers and it shows. They handle the veteran drivers like we’re newWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?I no drove long haul on a dedicated run 6 days a week I got burned out in 6 months

Unfair company

The old drivers there will fire any new drivers or most of them because they don't want new drivers take their places So don't waste your time with this company

Great company to work for as a newbie!

Fantastic finishing course, well organized and structured. Really setting you up for success. Dispatchers are competent and maybe not super quick but you are supported and taken care of. Awesome maintenance and break down program! You may work alone, but you're never on your own!

Points positifs

Great driver support, good pay, reliable, awesome culture

Back stabbing everywhere and very low pay

Would not work for a terrible sell out company where you really are disposable and just a number. No respect, do not care if you spend hours waiting at a boarder because it's always your fault. No support

Points négatifs

Bad maintenance, bad fleet, bad management, bad dispatch, terrible pay etc

Great team but low $/mile compared to competition

The team was great to work with, always friendly & helpful. Repairs were always done immediately and correctly. When a unit was miled out it was replaced.

Typical trucking job

They have a top notch training program for newly licensed drivers. If you're new to the industry its a great place to start But for the amount of time you're on the road away, the pay isn't really worth the sacrifice. Though challenger has good equipment and you will never be asked or forced to do anything illegal (operate faulty equipment, drive over your allowed HOS)

Points positifs

Good equipment, friendly co workers. Excellent training program

Points négatifs

Below average pay IMHO

Low miles low pay

Low pay , low miles , all east coast unless if you’re friends with planner , avoid at all costs , training program good but they get subsidized by the government to provide that

Points positifs

They take new drivers

Points négatifs

Low pay, low miles, east coast only

Good for experience for new drivers.

The pay is garbage, think 35k/y if you're a brand new driver, but dispatch has been pretty good about things, especially if you go out of your way to communicate.Benefits are also a joke when compared to other companies too.Vehicle maintenance is amazing though.Be accurate with what you say and do though, otherwise you can and will be blamed for things. The trucks are miled out, think 2016's.Their dispatch system is simplified to the point where you don't even have to think.

great training losy pay.

great place to get training, but to advance, or earn more money, well lets just say there are people working there earning $21/h after 15 years. thats scarry, and disrespectfull, of the company to these people. they say they apreciate u, but to get ahead or get a raise, im not sure what u have to do. someone toled me u need to make friends, but what abot a job well done? works for work not to make friends, its something that may happen by the way. but job security and advancement shouldnt depend on it.

Great equipment

Great company to work,if you can handle the manage/dispatch misjudgments. I worked there for 14 years, saw drivers coming and going and the reasons is aways the same “management”. They have they favourites and those favourites get the best loads/time

Points positifs

Great equipment

Points négatifs

Management

Good start, bad career

Good training program for new drivers to get initial experience and a foot in the door of the industry. Over time though extremely poor company to work for, low pay for professional driving industry and absolute garbage management that's treats you like meat. New drivers should work there for a year to gain experience then move on.

Points positifs

Training program.

Points négatifs

Away from home. Poor pay. Horrible management.
