The job is very fast paced & is a lot of work so don't expect to have a steady paced job here. Poor management who makes you deal with the conflicts with other coworkers. Huge Philippines community in these facilities no matter where you go & they are back stabbers & report you each chance they get. The pay is good so if it's worth dealing with drama on a daily with no back up, then by all means, apply
There's usually extra shifts to pick up
You work with a huge back stabbing philippines community, mean nurses that report you for very small things
Working at carewest is typically like working in any other healthcare company. Because its affiliated to government the pay is considerably better than working with private healthcare, the only problem is that its wuite difficult to get job stability when you are employed as a casual or part time worker.

I enjoyed the diversity of work I was exposed to within Carewest. There is little advancement within the positions themselves, but the opportunity to move to different sites and learn new things is available. Wage was less than comparable jobs, but the work was satisfying.
I like working there it is so nice to have strong team members and amazing management. All is well and so far so good . I like the clients that i work with nice minded people.
Residents are great to work with. Coworkers are clicky. Managers play favorites. Best times to work ate evenings and weekends, it keeps you safe from the politics and drama.
Great location and hours
Management and culture
Working in a complex care unit is extremely hard work and stressful emotionally, mentally and physically but it is also a very rewarding job. All the staff are amazing to work with and we all work together as a team.
Health benefits, competitive wages
Heavy work load and inconsistant management
Staff and residents are nice, easy to get along, sometimes it gets so busy but you get a lot of support, benefits are good, caring environment. The most enjoyable part of the job is the appreciation of the Residents you look after and the people you work with.
The company is great to work for, however with staff shortages and assigning too many patients to the workers, the environment for the patients is rushed and it welcomes and environment of abuse from staff. In my experience working for Carewest it was often a poor living environment for the residents. I often went home feeling defeated and exhausted from the level of work expected. It was sad to see how the residents were treated on a daily basis as well.
Shifts go too many days in a row, not enough weekends off, very diverse population, great benefits, pay and pension, great employee health and safety,

Too many working days in a row, not enough weekends off
I enjoyed working with residents and most of the staff. Management sometimes was less than understanding, especially when I became ill. My experience was less than enjoyable near the end of my employment.
Excellant frontline staff
Management underestimates their staff.
it is a nice place to work and have a safety enviroment, ive learned so many things how to learn how to deal with the client and the family.the management is nice to deal with the problems. the hardest part of the job is when your client past away and been attached to you.being with the residents and co workers and enjoying your company.
