High energy environment
North Vancouver -Park Host (Ancien employé) –  North Vancouver, BC23 avril 2019
This job requires high energy at all times and the ability to stand on your feet for long hours, ensure that you are prepared for the weather as the park is opened 364 days a year!

Well run and very interactive.
Grill Chef and Prep Cook (Ancien employé) –  North Vancouver, BC22 avril 2019
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of the more beautiful areas in Vancouver. There are tons of things for visitors to do during their time on the grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff as well as delicious food and amazing views.

Bad training and managements
Food and Beverage Server (Ancien employé) –  North Vancouver, BC17 avril 2019
Terrible training structure - I was alone on my first 8 hour shift (opening) with no formal training or paperwork and not one supervisor came to check on me. It’s a good thing I have cafe experience as a supervisor or else it would have been difficult. They promise shifts but I got one 5 hour shift in a week when my availability was opened. The hr manager Lost my personal banking info, no regard to that and just over all seems like they don’t know what their doing.

Can't beat the lovely Park Setting
Present Team Member (Employé actuel) –  Ambassador7 mars 2019
A nice place to work and great if you are a student living on the North Shore! Not a lot of pressure and can be fast-paced, May thru September and November/December.

Very diverse company when it comes to people. All ages, all walks of life, all genders, all types of personalities. An inviting and warm place to be. One thing here is they never ever question safety. Probably one of the safest places to work.

99% of the guests are happy and very friendly so not a lot of stress here.

Lots of junior managers and all are friendly and helpful.
Senior managers are aloof and not so friendly. But you hardly if ever deal with them so no big deal.

Can't beat the staff discounts and the hand warmers when it is cold and the cold drinks and freezie treats when it is hot.
Great staff facilities, lounges, kitchen, change rooms, and they supply you a uniform.

They also offer very flexible scheduling in the busy season. So you can definitely have great work and life balance here.

The only failing here is the wages. Everyone gets the same wage.
No matter how much experience you have. 1st-year employee or 20 years experience, you get paid the same in maintenance, parking, guest services, shuttle, etc.

Minimum Wage is BC is $12.65 it will go up to $13.85 June 1, 2019.

Right now the average wage a Capilano Bridge is $13.75 an hour.

So this multimillion dollar company fails miserably when it comes to wages. Most other tourism companies pay a minimum of $15.00 an hour. Other than food service there are no chances of tipping her either.

The wages are the number
plus... 1 complaint of the staff here.

If they improved wages, I could see the Capilano Group being in the top 100 employers in Canada. They almost got it right.

lots of nice people
Parking, Shuttle, Customer Service (Ancien employé) –  North Vancouver, BC11 décembre 2018
Capilano is definitely a young persons gig. The vast majority of staff are under 25 years of age. Many middle management are in their mid to late 20's.

There are a few old timers there.

The problem is the park pays very poorly. Some longtime staff are only making 15.75 per hour this is after 10 years there.
That is very sad.

Working conditions are beautiful and staff seem to have fun.
Guests are 97% easy to deal with and there is little stress.

There are generous staff discounts, fun staff events and nice summer, Christmas bashes.

My only advice to the CEO is to pay people what they are worth.

Best part of this job is the people!
Guest Service Agent (Ancien employé) –  Vancouver, BC14 septembre 2018
The Guest Services team is managed really well. However this does not mean that all of the Management Team are the most friendly engaging members of staff.

The additional perks of the job are excellent, generally a happy place to work with a great mix of employees!

Amazing supervisors and steady work
Park Host and Safety Host (Ancien employé) –  North Vancouver, BC14 mai 2018
I loved working at Cap, it's always so full of happy people. Management is very fair and conscientious of their employees' needs. Property is big and beautiful, employees are wonderful, only problem is the traffic on Cap Road sometimes messing up transit.

It is a great place to work!
Nature guide (Ancien employé) –  Vancouver, BC26 juin 2017
I loved ambience there (the bridge itself, the tree-house, Nature's Edge), co-workers and management. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Great team.
If you love meeting new people and telling them interesting stories, Nature guide is a perfect position.
Points positifs
Flexibility, cost TMK, lots of events organized for staff
Points négatifs
Could be cold during the canyon lights but if you like outdoors it is a pro

Extremely busy
Maintenance Worker (Employé actuel) –  North Vancouver, BC30 juin 2016
On a typical day we would experience upwards of 8000 people meaning there is always something to be done and always something in need of repair. It could be anything from planks on the bridge or boards on the other attractions to plumbing work to electrical work its always a different day and a different task.
