It's Fun but Demanding
Customer Service Associate (Ancien employé) - Fort St. John, BC - 27 septembre 2023
I enjoyed working there at first and there were a lot of benefits, but the job is really demanding and can get boring at times. Overall, it really depends on what location you are applying.

An alright place to work
GARDEN CENTER EMPLOYEE (Ancien employé) - Yarmouth, NS - 27 septembre 2023
The garden center was an alright place to work. Lunch hours were reasonable and the work load was adequate. It is not amazing, but good if an income is needed on the side.

Good starting job
Auto Parts Clerk (Ancien employé) - Saskatoon, SK - 26 septembre 2023
A typical dat at work can be fast paced and stressful but often is rewarding when dealing with a good customer. There are bad days where nothing seems to go right and customers are overly rude. The head office at my Canadian tire store will rarelt give out raises unless under certain circumstances and doesnt seem to value its employees as much as they should.
Points positifs
1 Hour lunch and 2 paid 15 minute breaks
Points négatifs
Bad wage and little to no possibility of advancement.

Do not work at a downtown location. Work in a suburban location.
Customer Service Associate (Ancien employé) - Toronto, ON - 26 septembre 2023
typical day: -sign out your radio and other tools. and clock in. you see where you're positioned. -do your duties required in your shift. -go on break if applicable. sign out if it's a meal break. -do your tasks required to end your shift. -return radio and tools. clock out. what i learned is how to handle abusive customers. the hardest part of the job is dealing with abusive customers.
Points positifs
discount
Points négatifs

It's a job
Stock Clerk (Employé actuel) - Courtenay, BC - 26 septembre 2023
It is literally a job to kill some time and pay the bills. I show up, I stock some shelves, I go home. People are normal and nice for the most part. Can't really complain too much.

Ok
Associate (Ancien employé) - Vancouver, BC - 25 septembre 2023
I enjoyed my co-workers, and the store and warehouse management was decent. The work was somewhat repetitive. I would recommend for causal or seasonal work

Frustrating
Manager (Employé actuel) - Toronto, ON - 25 septembre 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There are a lot of smart people you work with throughout the company. Most people will want to help you given the multi matrix culture where collaboration is key. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Managing politics, especially when you move up in the company. A lot of nepotism, workplace bullying, and decisions made top down happens behind the scenes. There is a general lack of understanding of digital in the company which is why it continues to trip over itself trying to transform itself from a legacy retailer business. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Executives push their teams to go into the office just to make their bosses happy. There is a toxic undertone culture at Canadian Tire as there is a propensity to blame individuals when execs don't get the results that they had promised to the store dealers. It has been going around for a long time when I've spoken to CT alumni and it's unfortunate that they turn a blind eye to bad management. The culture has changed especially on the digital side where everything has to go through the dealers, so effectively digital serves as a agency for the store detailers and not for the customer.

Emplois et carrières chez Société Canadian Tire
It was fun for the first bit!
Cashier (Ancien employé) - Bayers Lake, NS - 25 septembre 2023
easy job but sooo soo soo understaffed and the management acts like teenagers and have also seem to have a weird obsession with teenage boys (letting them have breaks and do whatever them wanted too, while us young ladies were picked at for everything. and i mean everything.) you were not allowed to use the washroom with PERMISSION they would go on the PA system and call you out BY NAME. i got written up numerous times for seriously dumb reasons, and ya i would not recommend if your female, and conventionally attractive.

Great place to work
Replenishment Analyst (Employé actuel) - Toronto, ON - 24 septembre 2023
Great place to work, very nice people with very little pressure. The head office is a pain to get to but on required in person two days a week. Pay is below industry standard

If you look for the good, you’ll find it. No place is perfect.
Warehouse Associate (Employé actuel) - Steinbach, MB - 24 septembre 2023
Fun place to work. Like anything, you’re happiest when you look for the positives. If you’re looking for negatives, you’ll find them. Fun coworkers. Managers are super nice, but manager/supervisors bad choices never have consequences or are acknowledged as their mistake, they are simply brushed away and forgotten. Pay somewhat seems to be based on if they like you personally rather than the job you do, and definitely the same evaluation for promotions such as supervisor or manager. I’ve been working there for a few years and I’m proud of my work ethic, yet I am making less than some people my age just starting.
Points positifs
Freedom of religion
Points négatifs
Very Underpaid

Decent job, kind of boring
Dayfill (Employé actuel) - Bowmanville, ON - 24 septembre 2023
Very repetitive at times, but not too bad. It’s hard to move up and get raises however due to the lack of hours allocated during off-peak seasons (which is a lot of the year).

Sales Clerk (Employé actuel) - Waterloo, ON - 23 septembre 2023
The job itself can be repetitive but hours are super flexible and it’s easy to get a shift covered. Management is very fun and almost all customers are nice and friendly.

Worked here for almost 4 years. Everyone is very friendly and respectful and managers are understanding. A pro is that there is the option to move between departments.

Productive and Fun
Sales Clerk/Cashier (Ancien employé) - Mississauga, ON - 20 septembre 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Working at Canadian Tire gave me great benefits such as dental care, vision care, and employee discounts. I had also worked in a safe environment reporting to my management is anything was wrong or unsafe. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Dealing with customers who have an aggression against you for doing your job, as you have no control of how things operate within the company, and are just following guidelines and policy described during orientation and training. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It was a good working environment, nothing to be worried about and was safe. What is a typical day like for you at the company? A little stressful there, but at the end of the day, I am still being paid for my hours served.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Busy, very difficult management team. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy and upsetting. Co-workers talk about other staff members in a negative way
