Be prepared to work with all kinds of personalities. Management non existent until performance reviews, which make little sense particularly when you throw a disaster into the mix. Expectation to drop everything to focus on a natural disaster, (hurricane/tsunami) yet during yearly review, this employee heard nothing but negative comments from one ghost ' manager'. No positives for stepping up, working lots of OT with out pay, learning a new computer system that had been rolled out during a disaster. Loved the coworkers; got along with the whole team. Made life long friends who volunteered in the office.

This group was very unprofessional. No training provided. Lots of gossip and cliques. Being non profit there’s always volunteer acts expected of you. The pay is low benefits not bad.

It was a great experience working at the Red Cross. The staff all cared about each other, whether at a branch level or within a region. The clients and volunteers added to it also. I learned a lot from all those around me daily.

I was responsible for running the day to day operations of the office,along with some amazing volunteers. As the first point of contact for clients, my job was to process healthcare equipment rentals, first aid registrations,monetary donations. The most difficult part of my job was knowing there was more need in the community than our organization could provide with limited funds, staff, and restrictions due to some policy and procedures. My job as an administrator not only consist of dealing with clients, but supporting managers and staff from other departments. The most enjoyable part of the job was helping others !

very nice staff to work with , fast pace environment it can be stressful at times to deal with clients. overall experience very supportive and routine daily schedules.
