Had a very good working experience at CP both as a mechanic and a production supervisor. I was trained to embrace the role of high management to mentor and educate craft personnel to understand the importance of a quality product to keep all revenue in flow
Great place to work however with all these changes being made it has become hard for everyone to stay positive. The culture is changing and many people have a hard time embracing change which results in a disorganised negative workplace. It is getting better and will continue to get better as these changes start to die down and they become a habit again.
Working at CPR was great, the guys there will always help you no matter what and will show you the ropes even when your new. Management has taken a turn for the worse recently and moral has went south since.
great co-workers, great pay, good benefits
bad hours, home life can suck, no weekends off for a while
Drive/Move, Test and Repair Llocomotives, could be a great place to work with better management and more planing, working night shift seems to get no help with other shifts, and not enough communication within the supervisors
