Two different environments from province to province. Alberta is the only non union canadian linen, and being unionized didnt change the job at all. The work load for the union was heavier, there was less pay since Vancouver basically gives product away practically for free, and the hours were gruelling. As a result, the sales and management push the csrs to the brim, and the truck was overflowing with product and they still demand more. Working in alberta was awesome. Vancouver is awful. are

Long hours, heavy work with handling gross, wet mats and disgusting bins of kitchen towels that get mouldy, management is awful, Pay not that great for the effort put in.
Early shifts, manage your own time. Daily loads are physically demanding. Your days start between 530 and 7 to load and you leave the plant by 8-9 the latest, get back to finish your shift after deliveries by 3-4 depending on how busy your route is. I was laid off due to Covid 19. Great place to work
Weekends off and holidays
The job of CSR is actually a lot of fun, meeting new people daily, learning about different industries and interacting with owners/managers of places as small as a take out restaurant, to a billion dollar manufacturer. A lot of pressure is put on the reps, you have to basically run all day long to complete your route, and even then it is sometimes impossible with the amount of stops, and the "desired" management end of the day. The job is in no way a cake walk. Its constant movement the entire day, 30-40 stops a day, some take 5 minutes to change a mat, put a bag of towels and aprons on the shelf, and change out the laundry bag. Some take an hour to change a dozen mats, bring in 50+ linen bundles and towels, and tag and load 30 bags of dirty laundry to take back to the plant. The bags are heavy when fully loaded with wet and dirty items, and the smell at the end of the day is revolting at times. The customers never seem to be happy because the product counts that they signed a contract to pay for every week never seem to be what was sent in to be cleaned the week before. Missing garments, no or the wrong linens sent back, poor quality items and the their seemingly endless calls to the office to air their complaints that seem to fall on deaf ears, have left a bad taste in their mouths. Some of the managers are outstanding and go above and beyond to help their staff and the clients, others shrug off any grievances and don't seem to care a bit about anything but towing the corporate line, and making staff feel like they mean nothing. Went through 3 General managers and countless supervisors when I was there. Supervisors treated like slaves. No reason to get promoted. To much infighting.

You're basically a Janitor in a delivery truck, servicing 30-40 businesses per day, picking up dirty laundry/towels and dirty wet floor mats and changing mop heads.. Half the customers/businesses you service are rude to you because the Plant doesn't provide you with enough product.. Most of the time there's nowhere to park your truck.. so you may have to walk a block or two with dirty laundry bags... And once you've finally finished your day, thanking god you're finished, you have your Managers complaining that you could have finished faster.

Canadian Linen is an EXTREMELY poor managed and run company (Hamilton Office) with a very negative work environment. The work load and expectations on the Data Entry/Customer Service dept is VERY unrealistic. They have no knowledge of how to manage their team - giving NEW hires the largest branch/workload. If you ask for support from your supervisors or let them know you are overwhelmed, you denied help and told 'JUST GET IT DONE'. The salary is very, very poor for the work expectations and demands on the employees - employees are NOT HAPPY that work there. The turnover rate is extremely high. Don't jeopardize your mental health, your self esteem or time working here. 100% honest review!
Job is okay, work is fair, pay is good, but management, and job culture is poor, leading to a lot of unnecessary stress. Management alternates between doing nothing, and over micromanaging. Priorities are often in the wrong place.
Really good benefits and pays well for a 4 day work week. Would be nice if we could start earlier instead of 7am. Pressured to find new business and upsell all the time even though we have a sales team. Isn't that's what a sales team does?.....not here!!
Horrible place to work, management one sided, very little support or help when needed, neglect company vehicles, even unsafe @ times. Will 100% take advantage of route jumpers, days are over loaded, not enough time to have lunch or breaks. Normal day is 10hr/day or more. Slavery @ its BEST!!! Management and staff are quitting on a monthly basis. Worst experience!!! NO STABILITY ( DO NOT APPLY )

Average office job - manageable workload, steady hours and breaks. Acknowledgement for a job well done. Little to no opportunity for advancement and promotions are handed out on a "who you know, not what you know" basis. Most of the people who work there are nice.

Great company that offers opportunity for advancement to people who work hard and are dedicated. Offer a fair compensation package and reward those who work hard and wish to further their careers.
Opportunity to grow within a company
Don’t ever work here, the company does not care for you one bit. If you are sick or hurt don’t even bother asking for the time off to heal as there is no one to cover. Meanwhile the management are sitting around in their offices slacking off. Some (not all) management have huge chips on their shoulders and if you voice your opinion they belittle you and come right in your face and want to start something.
Management and everything else
Don't kid yourself, this is a tough job. It is heavy and dirty with long days. The managers are, individually, nice guys, but as a company collective, hard on the CSR staff. It pays well though, and has a moderate benefit package.
