Overall they are slow to implement technological changes such as getting salesforce to work. They have re-branded so everything is being re-done. The passed few years it has been undergoing changes and there doesnt seem to be an end in sight.

We understand that challenges around technology can be frustrating and one of our priorities is to address these concerns. Teams from across business and technology areas are working on solutions – to stabilize our systems and make sure we can more quickly respond to issues when they come up.

Supportive people, great work for motivated advisors. If you don't mind working for commission and have a competitive spirit you can do great things there

They have no care about your personal family issues, which includes a death of a parent. They want you back producing the next day 0 work/ life balance

a typical day - had you calling potential clients to set up meeting. you get used rejection, typical for every ten call you make, three will answer the phone and then it will take around 10 answer to get 3 meetings. You will try to schedule 5 to 10 meetings week. During the week if you are in your first five years, you will have training schedule twice a week and met with your director at least one a week. Hardest part of the job -- is prospecting you need to have a steady line of people to see, this a straight commission so you only get paid when the policy gets approved, which can take a while -- i.e. I sold a policy in September but the policy wasn't approved until January and so I had to wait 5 months to get paid. This can cause a lot of stress.

What you will learn: Prospecting, handling rejection, phone skills, Canada Financial System, you will need to get your Mutual Fund license and Life insurance license ( the company will train you for these) Nice to have your CFP.

Most enjoyable part of the job: Working with clients and your fellow advisor in my situation the other advisors went out of there way to help out the new people. Some even took them on client calls with their clients.

If you want a job where you set your own hours and your pay is directly tied to the work you put in then this job is for you.

If you want a job the has more security and a steady pay then this isn't the right fit.
Points positifs
you make your own hours, great training program, great benefits, Helpful Directors
Points négatifs
straight commission, stress, paid no time off.

Good company to work for in terms of the opportunity. If you can't handle the pressure of working for 100% commission, it is a tough job. There is lots of freedom as you make your own hours and if you can close a lot of deals, the skies the limit for your income. However, they do not provide you with leads so you will have to generate your own. They do pay for you to get mutual fund licensed and life insurance licensed which is a plus

Great company and life products, but sales driven. If you like sales, great position. But need to be in that headspace. Support for sales training, and CFP courses, and great management.

Good crowd to work with. You must be self motivated though. Good earning prospects if you put in the work and are inclined towards self employment and have good time management skills.
Points positifs
Great Educational Development Support
Points négatifs
You can be isolated if you work away from a regional office.

I was an advisor with London Life, it's a great company with great management and you can definitely build a great career. But you need to hit your sales targets very aggressively or else you will be underpaid/unpaid since it's all commission based. I found with my time spent there, there was no real cold calling or existing client lists or books of business that you can build a clientele from(unless you bought one). It was nothing but networking so you could eventually sell to your own network. My director expected me to have 8-15 meetings a week with people from my "network." of which i would need to sell at least 1 policy. The issue i found which caused me to leave London life was that the sales I needed to make needed to be of high quality. (large insurance policies) which i found myself making 3-8 sales a week of small insurance policies but not making more than $250CDN every two weeks. Ultimately, I left because the pay was awful and there was a lot of work involved with very little monetary reward.
Points positifs
Set your own hours, great team, take control of your career, get licensed, be around great people
Points négatifs
Lots of hard work and long hours for very little pay

It is a job with a lot of freedom. You are able to get a lot of life/work balance. This is an opportunity for you to expand your network. The only down side to the job is the expense you have to pay on a biweekly basis.
Points positifs
work life balance
Points négatifs
pay expenses out of your own pocket

Freedom is a good start to the industry with risk because of the self employment aspect. Their management team went through an overhaul and as a result put some really unqualified and poor people in the roles.

Freedom 55 is a very good company to work for. it has all the opportunities to advance my career and learning as I go. It is a self employeed but with management support it doesn't feel like I am alone. I had a pleasant experience working there.

My review isn't really appropriate because I didn't go into the office often, as I worked from home. The office environment was great, had a lovely clean, friendly work environment, office space and phones to use when I was there. The hardest part of the job was having prospective clients answer the phone, call you back and keep the appointments that were set up. The company itself is great to work for and is always trying to set up social events for their employees and help them with their needs.
Points positifs
summertime barbeques
Points négatifs
distance to office as they closed the Brockville office

I worked at Freedom 55 for 5 years and here is the honest truth.
If you are going to be successful, you will need to know how to READ, WRITE, and SPEAK english fluently. The people who fail in this business are not 'business people or sales people'. They expect to be hired with little to no qualification, and to be given leads and sales. This is not the case. You will have to be a quick learner and good salesman. You'll have to know how to speak to people and explain what the company does and how they can help. There are NO office fees for new advisors anymore (there was at one point, but those days are gone). It is a great environment and YOU GET PAID THE VALUE OF WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE. If you are a newcomer to the country with no natural market, you will not be successful. If you want to make $ in life, you'll have to WORK for it. If you are prepared to work, then this is the place for you. The pay is awesome, but you need to put in the work.
Points positifs
NO office fees anymore, Higher compensaion in 2018, Great atmosphere
Points négatifs
lots of unqualified advisors who cant sell, training sessions sometimes long
