I think it really depends on what office you're in. It looks like some people have a terrible experience. I have had a good experience. Overall I think they are a great company to work for with a good culture, but sometimes you end up with leaders that just aren't up to par (like with any company) and then end up having a bad experience.

Network. If they like you, you're in. Understand basics of insurance. Looking at GWL vision statement, understand what the company is moving towards, and looking for your traits that match. Simple interview.

Officially 7.5 hours daily, plus 30 min unpaid lunch time. However, the work distribution among the colleagues in the office is based on strong favouritism. There’s no equity in how the caseloads are determined. Some have 60 to 75 cases, whereas others are with up to 150+ cases. The excuse is in the level of case difficulty and if you are experienced. But this is not realistic because the case is a case and the assessment and management take equally the same time. Some colleagues end up working up to 16 hours. Some of them eventually quit due to health issues, no work life balance, mental stress and exhaustion. HR are closing their eyes and the workers are never heard by their managers. If they speak up, they are told they have communication issues and problems with performance. The fear is strong in the office because ppl are afraid losing their jobs. The reason why the turnover is so high. Eventually, those who value their worth, health and dignity, leave. The company does not focus on its employees. They don’t encourage you to speak with your manager because the drill is very well developed of how to discourage you from doing that. Their motto is that no one is irreplaceable. I feel sorry for myself and colleagues working there. The pizza orders on an overtime days and Saturdays do not compensate the unethical treatment. Employment standards are not held properly. Whatever response the company gives to this review, it will be a generic reply that will be only dust in your eyes. Or will not reply at all. Whatever the case is, my advice to all is to invest your talent where you will be valued. I would give Zero stars if I could for this company, which I used to love years ago. With their centralization since 2017-18, the situation became impossible for employees. Zero respect and voluntary retirements, which are not really voluntary for employees turning 55.
