I am currently working as a Paramedic. I have 3 weeks vacation and already have benefits. But I’m bored. Would this be a good change if scenery, and worth losing the vacation time?
You won’t loose vacation time. Full time
Permanent employees start with three weeks a year. Hi
How should one prepare for the written exam example what types of questions to expect and how much does this qualify you to go further in the application process?
There's no standard. Learn who is writing the questions and their personality tells you what to expect.
Say, I lived in Toronto, could I get posted to work in Vancouver or anywhere around Canada?
Basically, you will be assigned to the location you have chosen when you applied for the first time whenever there is need at this location. However, if there is no need at that location, you will be assigned elsewhere but they will strive to place you the closest to your place of residence.
I have completed a college program and have a diploma in Citizenship and Immigration Case Processing and Enforcement Services. On top of that i studied at University of Toronto for a year. I think I meet all the requirements. My college emphasized that without being advanced in French you won't be selected at all. How true is that? I've spoken to many CBSA officers and most of them told me that it is very tough to get in now adays and it way very different when they got in. But all of them were super positive and told me not to get discouraged. From recent observations, are all recent employees speak French? I have submitted my applicatiin anyway but this question really bothers me.
The french language is not e requirement, although bilingualism would improve your opportunities to be considered for a position at CBSA since many positions require French speaking individuals.
As per the education requirements, it is clearly stated that a Canadian High School Diploma is required. If this is not the case especially for individuals graduated outside Canada, then a University degree with its credentials assessed locally or a TWO-YEAR college diploma earned in Canada would be required.
I have submitted an application to the CBSA. How long will it take to hear from them if I am selected as a candidate for the next step in the selection process? Will I receive an email, or do I keep checking the Border Services page and log in to see status.
You need to check the status of your application regularly. However, if you were selected for further assessment, you would be contacted directly.
