there are some very nice people working at CGI. Management sometimes seem to make it difficult for their employees; almost like they want people to leave the company.

Well managed workplace with good opportunities for advancement, unfortunately business unit was sold to a disorganized company. Personally, I consider management to be more important to job satisfaction than many other factors.

A busy day, depending upon the crisis situation at clients.
Learnt a lot of different job situations at the various client sites.

Management expects you to resolve the issues and awarded you sometimes, depending on the clients business status.

You could do something really great and see that you have achieved something for the client but it would not be recognized by the management.

Also helping with internal documentation and training to minimize errors and standardize work processes was something that a Management did not recognize.

The most enjoyable part was when a new client would roll in from Project to Production status.

CGI has been a great experience where I have grown in skills, experience and in my career. I have had the opportunity to work for and lean from some great leaders!

Raises and bonuses are few and far between. Sent us home to telecommute in 2012 so not to pay us a raise. Brought us back full time in 2018 with no compensation. Too many regulations and constantly changing policies based on the management of the month.

it was a great place to learn and do things experienced many good times and some slow development times over a good experience if you are ambitious move around to different department to gain experience

Raises were infrequent. Usually had a re-org in Sept (fiscal year-end)
Stock purchase was a good deal they match you up to 3%.

Depending on the project days could be very long. Clients were varied and we provided their IT Dept. Most of the people I worked with were knowledgeable and easy to get along with.

Not a place I would recommend. I don't feel valued, and it's often reiterated that you're lucky to have a job. I often go above and beyond, and am not recognized for it. The pay hasn't gone up in several years.

CGI great company to work for if you are looking to work in IT
I would recommend to anyone, good people and very knowledgeable.

The down side people promoted is only chosen my favoritism, that is the reason I left CGI

At CGI there is no balance between life and work. Management is non-existent, except micro-management. Co-workers for the most part are good to work with, there are some bad apples as with any place of employment.

Day starts with the night shift to day-shift turn-overs.
Then checking emails for any instructions from the manager, special requests from the clients.

Checking the output queues for daily printing.

Prioritizing the immediate printing of sameday service clients.

Inserting the first printed batch while co-workers still printing the remaining reports.

The hardest part is when a client calls and makes a special requests of urgent printing. That request will screw up our schedule for the days output. Enjoyable part is when everybody pitches in including the manager just to make sure that the request is done making sure that the client is satisfied and happy.

Before the day's end the manager threats us with food and drinks.
