Flexible work environment with your day-to-day tasks, but limited advancement and mobility. If your customer/department is slow then you are more likely to be let go instead of moved to another area which is busier. There also is not much of an appetite to cross train staff.

Worked at client site thus, little exposure to CGI company culture. However, the company does have wealth of resources that are managing other project and able to recruit those subject matter experts to find solution. Good company and good technical support overall. Unfortunately, if you're working in remote site, and stuck with a manager that doesn't perform their duty, you'll only get to see them once a year during the yearly performance review which can be extremely biased as there was little to no interaction with my manager most of year and they are not aware of the projects and items of accomplishment outside of the operations.

Worst experience in 20 years as a PM. People who do the actual work were great. The management were awful and unethical. All they care about is their bonus. Being threatened with if you don't like it leave lasted a year and I took their advice and walked. What ever you do avoid their Suncor account. It's stress from the moment you walk in and you will be used by the management as a scape goat.

company is good and it is still expanding worldwide andthey give profit sharing to all employees regardless if you are new or have been with the comp[nay for so many years.

large company that still gives employees a "small company" feel. Great culture, good people and fun activities to keep a good balance. I really appreciate how this company has grown from just a kitchen table for an office to the size and service level it is at now.

If you just want a job CGI is the place to be. Keep your head down you will be here for 30 years.

If you want to move around its easy. I was promoted in a year and have been offered another promotion starting Jan 1. (second year)


You are not going to get angry here You might get frustrated.


Its just a job nothing to get excited about


I would not recommend it for someone new to the industry.

But if you know what you are doing its ok.

Having been in the company for 9 years, I've moved from their Markham office to Calgary Office and went through a few different positions. In general, the company is growing very well under CEO Mike Roach. However my experience of working in Calgary and compared to Markham was very different. Each business unit is run differently and has its own issues. Calgary office had a small company feel with many close minded people. It has gone through few years of change, including outsourcing some work to India. In general the morale is not great.

Overall a good company with good vision. They have a few leaders that are rough around the edges, but they are usually successful in their pursuits and delivery.

Very business oriented. Not as much fun to work at as other environments.Managers do not hesitate to lay people off when business is not as projected.

At CGI you're not an employee, you're a number. Managers were all out for themselves and would happily throw you under the bus to save their own hide. Rewards for working nights and weekends, otherwise you're a slacker. Don't work there unless you have to.
