The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Buy Low Foods
Deli/Bakery Clerk (Employé actuel) – Keremeos, BC – 30 avril 2019
I loved working for Buy-Low, I loved my coworkers and my hours, I never had issues with anything other than management (Store managers and supervisors, not always the department managers.) I disagreed with the management style, they hired all the wrong people and were contradicting their management methods every which way as there are 3 'managers' (who were never on the same page) that then delegate to the department managers completely different information. the Deli was the worst, but to be fair- it is our first year as Buy-Low Foods and we are all adjusting (I saw probably 10 people get hired and *QUIT* IN THE DELI ALONE in my year working there). However, the management never took the blame for changing the things we learned or hiring staff that didn't want to work, Which in turn is not the worst thing in the world because there was never a shortage of hours so my paychecks were always full.
Until someone calls in sick and the staff that was hired does not want to come in on their days off, causing the department managers to work 12 hour thankless days. Then the department managers get short tempered with you for needing a sick day, and being the cause of their 12 hour days.
If you need the hours and a full paycheck, come work for BLF- but make sure you know your own limits. be prepared to turn down overtime shifts, be prepared to work hard and you will fit in just fine.
Positive Coworkers, Good hours
Bad management, understaffed, scatterbrained
