Sales Commission job at the Brick is quite stressful and creating competition between employees by managers creates lack of healthy environment to work. Chaos and misunderstanding between employees is commonly found here.
Helpful sales managers, Free Lunch
Long Hours, Less Pay, Unhealthy Stressful Working Environment, Lack of Motivation
Total hours in a work week was never the same. The work week varied between 30 hours and 40 hours. Starting hours were anytime between 8 am to 3 pm. I never had 2 complete consecutive days off. Occasionally, I was called on my days off and was asked to report within the hour.
Starting salary was just a little over the minimum wage.
Disorganized work week schedule.
High Competition and commission based job.The bigger group of people you know is better. working times were good until its the tent sale.no fixed salaries but you can make as much you want sky is he limit. You make some good friends on the way.
I can say working with diversity of companies was big opportunity to open more doors to other chance to get another job. The atmosphere was good and learning was easy as well.

heure de travail
Co workers usually fun and great to work with. Boys Club - If you are not on the inside you will not be considered for promotions even if experience and skills are better. Not great to people with learning disabilities like dyslexia.
Promtions based on who you know not what you know. Work/life balance.

every day was a new day
Fast pace ,always changing work . Provided good work to life balance. Product can be an issue at times to fill the customer needs
I had a great team to work with but customer complaints were very stressful. The whole burden was on customer service reps. We were basically problem solvers when anything went wrong.
long hours, stressful dealing with complaints, under-paid
The most enjoyable part of my job is the people i work with. I have been with this company for 10 years, and a lot of the same people still work there. They are like a second family. The management there has always been very motivating and willing to offer advice or help to help me move up within the company. My typical day of work is to ultimately help the customers. Which i love doing! Making people feel happy with their purchase and to have a good experience is why i do this job. I have gained a lot of knowledge on how to communicate with customers effectively. This includes all types of customers, Satisfied ones and not to satisfied ones. When i can say that i have made a customers experience a pleasant one, i know that i have done my job. I do not find any part of my job difficult. Since i have been with this company for so long i am very comfortable. This is why i need a change. I need to challenge myself and learn new things, so i can grow.
the working hours
The company under went some changes, and lost its way. I would never suggest taking a sales position with the company. You'll be forced to work extra hrs or late shift without any extra compensation cause your a commission worker.
Great lowered or entry level staff, had a blat!
Bad Pay, Management is never on task, Used to pay very good, Have to payback all minimum compensations paid by your Province.
when I was first at the brick, I enjoyed the challenges involved in working to make any difficult issues easier while respecting the needs of both company and client. upon returning from mat leave, finding a new corporate management team, the many changes in place, changed my opinion
