Look elsewhere, not worth it
Parts Manager (Ancien employé) –  Kelowna10 août 2019
They train new employees very poorly then blame you for not doing your job correctly while offering no help or guidance to correct the problems. Set you up to fail if they don't like you. Management will talk about your personal problems with other employees and does little to stop harassment in the shop. Very poor experience with them and do not reccomend them as an employer. Left a good job for this opportunity only to regret it. Don't waste your time and energy working for them. Toxic work environment.

horrible company
autobody tech (Employé actuel) –  winnipeg2 mai 2019
regional manager in Manitoba is a total control freak and has absolutely zero people skills or any understanding of the auto body repair process.. the assistant is even worse, thinks shes a manager coming around yelling at everyone for the smallest mistakes, it contributes nothing to helping or improving what problems are there. Its like a 3rd world country in their shops, very dirty, dusty, poorly lit, spray booth leaks paint into the shop , old outdated equipment, and just a ton of pressure and panic to produce.

they will come and constantly tell you you aren't going fast enough or doing things wrong but offer no guidance or support to improve the situation because they dont know what they are doing or how to help.

if you value yourself and take pride in what you do and actually want to take your career to the next level , do not work here. there are lots of options for the autobody industry, dont allow yourself to be treated badly by these people at boyd.
Points positifs
none

Just a number
Auto Body Technician (Employé actuel) –  Edmonton, AB1 septembre 2018
Boyd cares about 1 things
Profits
They do not care about their staff. They treat employees like they are disposable and hence the reason they are CONTINUOUSLY running ads looking for techs. They are a revolving door. In my opinion BOYD should focus more on keepinf employess happy instead of trying to replace them. Quality in workmanship has dropped. I went into a shop the was owned privately and within 2 years of Boyds taking over the shop is run down, dirty, unorganized and empty
IMO I would not work again here unless it was an absolute last resort
Points positifs
Good group of technicians
Points négatifs
Poor mamagement to run the shop

Be careful this company has some good locations to work in , this one that is advertising now though isnt one of them. manager is dis repectful to his employees and the calgary south location has gone through a lot of workers. You will be expected to put out way more door hrs then you get paid for.
Points positifs
good equipment, not enough to go around though and you cannot use your own tools
Points négatifs
cant supply your own tools, expectations way to high for a new employee

Voted #1 Body Shop - Kelowna, BC
Administrative Assistant (Employé actuel) –  Kelowna, BC26 octobre 2017
Boyd Autobody & Glass in Kelowna, BC.
Great Company to work for and also involved in the Kelowna and Penticton, BC Community. All employees and community volunteers enjoy working for Boyd Autobody & Glass because the difference is they care about people. Boyd gives employees to learn and grow with the company. I highly recommend this company to work for, if you want a long-term career and work with great people.
Points positifs
Great Company and managers to work with. Strong team and leadership in this company.
Points négatifs
Busy Company .

Friendly environment
Filing Clerk (Ancien employé) –  Winnipeg, MB14 août 2017
employers were very nice, had no problems, a typically day at work would be fun, sometimes hard when things were not originally in place, the hardest part of the job would be having to work in quiet in slow past. enjoyable part would be everyone was very friendly and helped out a lot, specially with communication.
Points positifs
friendly employees
Points négatifs
slow days

Friendly co-workers and good management
HR Generalist (Employé actuel) –  Winnipeg, MB9 juin 2017
I get along well with my co-workers at Boyd, and the managers are hard-working. I've seen the managers take steps to become better leaders and mentors for their staff, and they are learning to be more compassionate and to improve communication in the workplace.

Terrible place to work
Parts Manager (Ancien employé) –  Winnipeg, MB8 mai 2017
I worked there for 3 years and i would rather be homeless living on the street than go work for this company again. Profits are the only thing that matters to this company. The managers are useless and the regional manager is very rude and will yell at you in front of your coworkers and customers.

Fun Staff
Production Manager (Ancien employé) –  Winnipeg, MB22 février 2017
Generally enjoyed working at Boyd Autobody when I first started. Has great potential to be a good job. However, it is a corporate company which means changes come all the way from the stop, and are made as a one way fits all shops kind of deal which is just incorrect. Lots of meetings, lots of stress, not enough pay.
Points positifs
Good Staff
Points négatifs
Poor Wage
