your training will be intense. hope for a helpful trainer who actually cares about you as a person, they will show you what to do once-after that your on your own. Expect your co-workers to play favorites. Manager is 2 faces and often has strange motives. Will ask inappropriate questions during interview-martial status, kids....etc......be careful what u say and how you express yourself. Be prepared to work overtime when asked which means people call in sick and your work life balance will be difficult.

If you believe in safety and following OH&S rules and stand up for yourself you will be targeted and run out of there. Management are bullies and will intimidate you and make your life a living ****. I recommend that you do not work there.

Working here would be good if the manager wasn't so 2 faced. He pits people against each other and does nothing. He is very hard to work for and I can't understand how he keeps his job. Employees would be much happier if he left. Would also be nice to get a raise as one has never been given and until the union contract is in place can't see anything good happening here. If people here were like the HR in Vancouver I think we would all be happier. We just want to know we are valuable and be treated like human beings.

Salary and benefits are the pros, work culture is horrible

Manager loves to micro manage and change policies on a weekly if not daily basis. Clear favoritism of certain employees vs others. Use union policies when it works for them, otherwise ignore other parts of the agreement. Job wise some co workers are nice and genuinely would like to help, others treat it like high school and have their own little groups or factions that they stick to and try and make others working lives difficult. Culture not the greatest, but the pay isn't bad. Pros the paycheque, cons clear favoritism of certain employees by manager and work culture.

Workplace Culture is Strengthening

I have been an employee with Bouygues for a few years. The company is trying to strengthen their workplace culture and have seen improvements with ensuring the right people are hired in the right positions. The company is maturing and the people are all very nice.

Useless upper management team.

I have worked for over 35 years and have never seen such a mismanaged company. Upper management has absolutely no clue on how to operate and maintain a facility. The staff turn-over rate is absolutely ridiculous over the last two years.

Not ideal workplace

I have to admit the pay is great but the probation is 6 months which is way too long. The employees there are not friendly at all. The management does not consider the workplace conflict at all. Any new hired person is just another person who they can fire and rehire any other person. I am not very impressed with this company. If you do get hired at this place all you can expect is to work overtime shift with no social or family life. There is no appreciation from the management or your co workers.

If you do your job you get rewarded

If you don't do your job and try bluff your way through then you will be found out because of all the reports and paperwork that has to be filled out because of the contract document of the P3 sites. One of the sites won the 2015 BC Operations team of the year so they must be doing something right. Senior managers will support the employees but because of some past middle management employees trying to pretend they know everything and not wanting to listen it went a bit sideways at times. It looks like they may be weeded out so it should get back on track. Bullying or employee disrespect is not tolerated and dealt swiftly when or if it arises. Pay is above average and the working conditions are better than most places I worked. It seems a lot of other posters here have been negative but I am thinking it's the ones that were left go for not pulling their weight are saying these comments. At the front line there is little to no staff turnover which speaks for itself. If people are happy they stay even though you always get the moaners no matter how good things are. The majority of people will help and listen to you here. There's a few that would not but who needs them anyway. Long term employment is a bonus working for this company.

Pretty much same experience as majority of the previous reviews. Globally a generally good company, just seems to have the wrong group of people running it locally. Sop's are out dated and in some cases not even relevant. Management loves to change policies on the fly or as it suits them. No manager at this site remotely has a clue as to how a unionized site is or should be run. Turnover rate is second to none which adds to the chaos. There is absolutely no coaching and training is minimal. Communication between management and employees is minimal. There is a bad atmosphere created by management. Avoid, besides a good pay cheque not worth any one's time.

company with a pathetic reputation

This company has one of the worst reputation period. Management is indeed incompetent in their actions and treat all their staff horribly from the housekeeping, help desk, and technicians. There is no synergy in terms of working together and instead there is always the finger pointing of "who to blame when something goes wrong". The morale is low between staff and at times coworkers fight with one another making it a high school environment which is pretty sad. The possibility of things will get better is not realistic as every procedure is made up out of nowhere and there is a lack of communications between staff members which makes it frustrating to work here.

Incompetent Middle Management

Management in this organization needs a reality check. When employees within this organization are vocally complaining about the work environment through these reviews, you can be sure this is a sign of poor management.

They have a bad culture of throwing their work down the food chain. Managers pass their duties to supervisors such as budgeting, administration gives their scanning and other work to the help desk, and the stock administrator gets housekeepers to do their own inventory. Management keep telling everyone they “Have had some growing pains but things are improving considerably as the right people are hired”, maybe it is time you fired all the wrong people you hired and see if things improve.

They don’t value communication with their employees and fail to pass along new information about company policies or procedures that will affect the way staff members perform their jobs. In an organization where management is unable to provide consistent and realistic guidance, give conflicting signals and refuse to accept reality are all signs of an incompetent management.

Progressive company looking to grow

Very good company to work for, pay and benefits are probably the highest in the sector. Have had some growing pains but things are improving considerably as the right people are hired.

Very ethical company/group to work for.

Takes bullying and harassment claims seriously and has terminated staff who were found to be bullying and harassing it's employees. WCB has given great reviews on our policy and process around such claims.

The company has gone through some growing pains but is starting to turn the corner.

Job postings are awarded based on the Collective Agreement and not based on favourtism as others have alluded to.

I agree with the poster above. It is true that this place will always throw you under the bus. The management is a joke and they are always hiring which is a red flag. And its true that a number of management are from the fast food industry ie Burger King.

Non of the management is qualified for there jobs. I guess you can't accept too much if your managers come from McDonald's and Burger King. No open lines of communication with management or supervisors or supervisors to employees. No support, guidance, training given to employees. SOP's got changed on daily and sometimes on hourly bases. Management always throw you under the bus even for there mistakes, and don't take responsibility. Only co-workers are helpful and will help you.

This place challenges your skills but awkward shift schedule.
Technician (Ancien employé) –  BC1 juillet 2014
The work schedule, start and stop times and days off varied from week to week and sometimes day to day. I learned to use a range of skills on a range of equipment and was not bored in what I had to do. Management did not always understand the niche job requirements, but that may be typical anywhere. Co-workers were great and will be missed. The hardest part of the job was the randomness to the shift schedule to balance with home life. The most enjoyable part of the job was the unique environment. Good benefits package.
