The training for the position at this location was severely lacking even after working there for 3 months I was still having trouble with certain tasks. At some point we had a menu change so we had to take a course to learn about it, the course was on a special website for employees. I had not even been told that this website had even existed until then so I was very confused as to what management was talking about. Come to find out that the website included all lot of things that would have helped me when I was still training. Despite this, I did enjoy all the people that I worked with they were always ready to help and were a lot of fun to be around.
I was belittled by my boss and rudely asked if I "speak english!" after asking him "what do you mean 5 minutes?"A typical day at work consists of rude comments by leadership and chaos. There is no bartender so you have to make your own drinks all while serving tables, taking over the phone orders and packing to go bills. At the Boston pizza I worked at there is no standard. You will be constantly asked " do you understand English" "are you blind" by the boss if you do something by mistake. Boston Pizza is not an ideal work place. No body cares about Health, Safety or Guest Satisfaction. The work culture is hit or miss.. some people are great but a lot of people arent going to be kind to you.
no breaks, no benefits, low wage, low tips, rude leadership
The teamwork of the kitchen team is amazing. And i think it will be amazing if the FOH and HOH have great communication and collaborstion with one other and they support each other.
Teamwork and unity
Less interaction between FOH and HOH
I wouldn’t recommend working at the Boston Pizza on Chesterfield and Esplanade ( Store number 25 I believe). It’s mismanaged and there is no job security and no appreciation. The kitchen Manager is belligerent and overly emotional and gets upset at staff when food is returned by customers, but that doesn’t matter because he fits the racial profile of course. The owner doesn’t value good employees and the Gm just hires people that fit his own racial profile. Half the staff has no idea what they are doing but it doesn’t matter because they’re probably all related to the owner anyway. This specific location should be shut down or taken over by someone else.

The location itself isn't bad. The management sucks, but if you can look past that, you'll enjoy working there. Tips are decent, other coworkers are friendly and usually eager to help out.
50% off staff meal while on shift, easy to switch shifts if needed
short hours, slow days and nights a lot of the time
