We’ve helped employees personal problems as appropriate. Examples include advances in emergencies, help with handling difficult landlords, finding housing, etc.
During the tenure of our Victoria manager, we have had two district managers, not three. We have one district manager and a support team of lead managers underneath.
We replenish stock based on orders sent to us from managers of stores. Often these orders are vague and lead to items being missed or the wrong item sent out. We have rectified this by launching an online portal to place orders as of January 17th.
We have never used any of the sites listed as suppliers, but don’t deny that there may be similarities in what we carry. There are only so many differences between jewellery that can be captured in a 2D image. We’ve switched to working hands on with manufacturers to make slight changes. These are less obvious changes, like sturdier settings, longer threading, etc.
We are always aiming to improve our jewellery based on customer/employee feedback.
We've also used employee feedback for promotions. The scavenger hunt we ran in Summer 2019 was the idea of one of our managers. She was very hands on in the promotion and execution of the hunt.
About the line of jewellery that was brass: brass is a metal some people have an allergy to. We use brass for all our jewellery with filigree details. Steel and titanium are too hard to make such fine details. We designed the jewellery to have titanium for the part that sits inside the piercing. This is to lessen the risk of a reaction. Unfortunately, in the case of this particular line, there was a mix-up. We have advised the employees and updated our online listings to reflect this.
We carry brass earrings that are double the price of the jewellery you mention. When the customers have the correct information, the jewellery doesn't back. With a few exceptions, many of the styles we brought in of these earrings sold out – and they sold out fast. It is unclear why the piece should have been dropped on the other jewellery.
Brass is perfectly safe in healed piercings as long as you don’t have an allergy. The same is true of silver and gold.
Sales under the leadership of the past manager have been the lowest in the company for months – beyond a “bad week.” With the past manager gone, sales have doubled. Our Victoria store was the top performing store in the company last week.
We feel the parting of ways is beneficial for both parties. moins
