It was a good place to work , the staff was friendly, had a good boss . They let me bring my daughter into work when I couldn’t find a babysitter . Really enjoyed working there could be stressful at times but all in all a good place to work .
I was new to the whole restaurant environment, the managers and owners knew that when they hired me. There was no professional training whatsoever, I was basically learning as I would mess up or learn from seeing others. There was times where I have to pay out of my own pocket because I made a mistake, I was still learning!!! The owners made it very difficult to work and do our jobs and they were hard to talk too, it seemed like nothing I or anybody said, got to them. After every shift I felt so overwhelmed and overworked, I knew on my first that I won’t be working there for long. I loved the customers and my position but best western workplace just isn’t the best
I really enjoy the people I work with and the ideals of the company. I admire that the managers do bi-monthly reports on your performance which allows you to strive for continuous improvement. Really friendly environment, teamwork is really encouraged.
energizing atmosphere, annual bonus
Schedule is subject to frequent and unexpected changes

A typical day at work would start with a clean up and prep to ensure a positive and organized shift. If a supper rush would come in that would make my shift easier because everything is would be at my despence. After and during the supper rush if able i continue to clean around the restaurant, possible help with banquets if my turn or if not to turn also. I would also have to mange phones in case of room service, which i would also delivery. I usually worked the night shift so at the end of the night i would be responsible for the close up. That would also follow up with a clean of the restaurant, shut down of all the equipment and do my cash out.
The company would be very generous christmas
little or no time for breaks
Over all nice location of work. The dining room has a beautiful view of Georgian bay. Always a different day at work. The guests are very nice and are loyal to us.
Staff food discounts of 50% off
Great place to work, unfortunatly the union has to go by seniority, I would love to still be there. You never know, they might just be hireing again soon!
Love the professionalism, but also fun teamplayers.
A typical day was bartending, serving, problem solving, engaging in conversation with patrons. I eventually learned how to run the kitchen also, and later got promoted to front desk before leaving for a higher paying job.
Dealing with customers.

There is nothing I have to say about working at Chocolate lake hotel. The Restaurant manager was great at working around schedules, and supportive in anything that is needed. The staff worked as a team, and was very friendly! The restaurant was always kept in great condition. The food always looked liked art, beautifully presented!
Working in the restaurant here has been extremely beneficial to me, I have learned a lot. I started bussing and from this, I eventually learned how to serve. A typical day at work is pretty straightforward and basically the same every day other than a small problem here and there that you have to just get around and solve. The management is really great because there is always someone you can go to if you have a problem. The hardest part of the job is probably the hours, you either have a very heavy work load or a very light work load, it is very hard to find a way to just have a healthy medium. The most enjoyable part of the job is probably the people that work there. You become like a little family and you challenge each other to do better and improve.

Long hours or Short hours
I like working at Best Western a typical day is long hours lots of heavy lifting. I leaned that time is key when busy and everything has to be set right.
free food and get to dance
not full time and no real schedule
It was a slow restaurant to work at. But when it was some what busy, time went by fast. All my co workers were easy to work with with no problems at all. When we weren't busy we would have to do cleaning.
Leaving with tips at the end of the day.
When someone called in and would have to work alone.
Being in a small setting of a restaurant that only required one server meant an extensive amount of responsibilities, everything from serving, bar-tending, hosting. The management was very honest & was always willing to have a flexible schedule. The hardest part of my job was having an unforgiving customer in the middle of a rush while continuously multitasking. The most enjoyable part was learning how to sushi roll.
It is an ok place to work the people that I work with are the best I have learned a lot about how hotels run but the main let down is the amount of work that we have to do with the little wage that we get.
free sunday brunch
only paid minamum wage for alot of work
