I have always felt cared and respected at the Best Western. At times communication is poor. Been there 10 years and I am not going anywhere. Fun, friendly. Coworkers like family.
Poor communication at times
Nonexistent management makes for a terrible place to work. Also there are no standards for cleaning and/or sanitizing!!! Don’t be fooled by the lobby and main area, behind the scenes the kitchen is filthy and never cleaned properly.
Some great coworkers
Coworkers were fun to work with, nice people. Shifts were very slow paced unless it was a special occasion or event. I once worked 6:30am- 3am which is not even legal. The owners also forced us to sign out and right back in with our keycard on more than one occasion when working these long shifts so they wouldn’t have to pay us over time. I was constantly getting called in on short notice. Need I say more..,

The employees that I work with are fantastic. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful and fun. The hours can be too long or not long enough and there are no guaranteed hours per week. I love getting free food when there are left overs and on busy nights the tips are pretty good.
You never were doing the right thing, hated the fact I had earings, no one tipped. I liked the other bartenders. I really dont feel like going on and on and on. this should be enough.
The Sands Best Western was a great place to work. It was family owned and I felt like a part of it. It's located in my neighborhood so I also felt more a part of it. Operations were run smoothly. The staff were great. Immediate management changed a lot leaving the employees to uphold standards. Serving the same people every day was a challenge and a reward.
This is a very fast paced environment....You need to be pleasant and curteous at all times....you meet new people from different places daily....we also have our regulars that return all the time because of the great food and service provided!!
The most enjoyable part of my job is I really love the clientele there and there are many long term employee peers that I've known and have been friends with for many years. The most difficult part right now of this job is the status of the food and beverage operation. It is in threat of being shut down fairly soon and I wish to continue working. I've made Bartending/Serving a career and am seeking steady solid employment. A typical shift for me is interacting with the customers, serving in the lounge, preparing all cocktails and drink orders for the clients as well as for all the dining room servers. I order all liquor for the operation and prepare bartenders schedules and maintain liquor inventory and create daily specials.
Good wages, good fellow employees and clients and I am not 'micro managed' and am trusted to do my job well.
The unstable condition of the status of the closure of the operations.
When I was there it was not very busy I ran the grizzly lounge and front desk at the same time (lounge right beside front desk) we didnt have to many cheqing in. I kept myself busy cleaning when there was no guests
owner was never there
