it is an unfair place to work. The staff get underpaid tremendously. The housekeeping depeartment has high turnover and is always understaffed. Always get a lecture when call in sick or made to feel guitly when calling in sick or needing a personal day
A typical day at work would usually be me and three or four other employees setting up banquet halls for weddings, parties, shows, and all sorts of other things that go on. I learned how to work in fast paced environment while working there. There would be nights where it would get really hard when we would have to set up for two or three parties in one night. The most enjoyable part of the job were the employees I worked with, they were all outgoing and nice people.

Great company and management but no benefits. Career advancement becomes available not often but a few times. Night audit is 4 nights on 3 nights off which is set for the most part every week.
Staff hotel discount and friends and family as well
Hours not set
This position is most suited to people who are extremely outgoing and can see the best in any situation. Numerous interactions with guests and employees alike. A typical day can vary depending on which shift you are put on. Mornings are usually your checkouts, days are checking in, and nights are for financial reports. This position challenges the employee as they have to multi task a variety of task at once (ex numerous phone calls while checking in people at the same time). The position is usually by yourself in which it can be difficult to manage all things at once. You are the front line and the punching bag for all guests that have problems. You WILL face many difficult people who may not be understanding and it is your job to either calm them down or just take the brute force of what choice words they will say to you. The workplace culture feels that everyone is almost independent but working together to keep customer satisfaction a high. Sometimes you may be accompanied by management if they have business on that day but many times you will be independent by yourself. You will have to make decisions at times that are sensitive and it your call whether to do what you feel is right.
long hours and potential soul shattering difficult people
good place to work. Fast paced very busy. Hotel is kept in good condition and the atrium/pool area is beautiful. Guests are quite happy on a regular basis.
By far one of the most amazing places I have ever worked at even if it was for a very short time. Management was amazing as well as the staff, people you could get along with and have a wonderful time doing so. The hardest part of the job was that it was pretty physically demanding but that's what's expected of Kitchen Prep people. All in all it was one of the best experiences in my life.
Flexible scheduling, fun atmosphere, competitive salary and compensation packages, supportive management and good possibilities to advance, free meal.
By far the worst job I've ever had. The rooms can vary depending on the guest, so your time management goes along with that as does your quality of production with the stress of time on your hands, management & supervising staff rude, not light w/ attitude, argumentative and disgusting people. Not very good pay for the horrible hours you do get to work never over 30 hrs a week sometimes less than 15 if any. Hotel upkeep in general, decent. Guests seem to return some check out early unspectful of how they're treated at front desk or by staff. Halls loud, pool/atrium loud. Complaining guests, unhappy guests alot.. Hard to deal with while trying to be respectful. Overall I rate the job 1 star because I can at least eat & maybe pay my phone bill. I don't suggest the job to anyone, by far.

I have been working here for a few months and I have to say when I started things were slow but as the weeks went by I noticed a huge change..things werent getting done correctly, we didn't have the supplies we needed to do the job correctly, we were given huge lists of rooms that couldn't possibly be done in an 8 1/2 hour shift using there 30 minutes a room. The last straw has to be that they are now REWARDING the people that DONT do the job right...a bonus is being given to individuals that can complete all there rooms and I know first hand that other girls have said; Well I just won't do this and this and this..basically they are saying they don't care about the quality if it means costing them there bonus. I however do NOT agree and I cannot do a room half-baked just because of that.
two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch, they are 8 and a 1/2 hour days so you make up for your unpaid lunch
never paid for overtime unless you go over the 88 hours in a two week period, expected to stay and finish even if you are there till 8pm, managment does not care that we need more people
