This is the most dysfunctional place I’ve ever worked. The owners don’t CARE how they treat there workers and they okay cat and Mouse with you every day. This is to be a best west plus I would give it way below a minus. Rooms are so dirty as it has not seen any money into it since it has been built. We have next to nothing to work with and they want it a A PLUS WHAT A JOKE. All I can say is stay away for The Best Western plus south Edmonton
There is a housekeeping supervisor who is a real ratchet to work for. She's fine one day and miserable the next. She's a big gossip also. She's lovely to the bosses face and next thing you know in our closed door staff meetings she's tearing them down. Not a nice thing to do is to bite the hand that feeds you.
Manager is not the best but a lot change is has been happening to improve the working crew there and its slighlty getting better but can very a unorganize work environment at times.

Working for Best Western wasn't so great, you're basically on your own, you don't get trained much you just have to figure everything out yourself. The pay is not great at all, especially for the amount of stress and work you have to do. You have to do housekeeping and front desk sometimes. Didn't have a great experience working for Best Western
Management, environment is not so great.
Every job has it's perks but this job was stressful. This location is behind on laundry and not enough supplies. Time limits on room isn't enough. Not to mention the rooms that floods and while cleaning rooms, it was always hot. No wonder why guests give this hotel a bad rating.
Co-workers and supervisors are nice.

when I'am working in hotel industry for me at first its difficult but when i learned i feel happy and comfortable cause we have a great and nice team.i learned how to be confident and I'am happy cause i love my job .Management support and provide what we need in housekeeping department.We respect each other cause most of us have a different culture .The hardest part of this job if we have a lot of guest team's check in. enjoyable part when break time cause we are chatting while eating ,and have parties all department.
An enjoyable working atmosphere,A structured day working as a room attendant in a very positive environment,with the best housekeeping supervisor anyone could hope for.i thoroughly enjoyed this position at the hotel.
I unfortunately got caught up in one of the Best Westerns who's owner did not overly seem to care about his staff or his customers. Although I would not recommend the specific hotel I worked for, Best Western as a brand seemed to be okay, and if you end up at one better than the one I was employed with, you should have a great experience. I unfortunately was promoted only to supervisor when I was doing the job of the front desk manager, an accountant, as well as still preforming regular front desk shifts. Although I did payroll and did the schedule for my employees, I was not given the power to hire and let go of people in order to make my front desk as strong as possible. Basically, just be wary of things going on, and I'd suggest sticking to the simple front desk position, I wish I had.
small reception at front desk with about 2-3 staff working. Learnt how to deal with guest and register them with hotel PMS system. Learnt to deal with guest concerns. Enjoyed resolving guest issues which would be the most difficult part of the job, however this was most satisfying as well

Hello, i have joined this property a month back and so far the experience has been nice. The environment is friendly the Management is have e keen focus on Guest Satisfaction and Profitability.
Good location, nice environment.
This was the place where I got the chance to use all the lessons and experience that I acquired over my long career. From social media advertising, networking, product development, menu design and costing, training of staff and execution of procedures. This place really excelled with my new direction. There were no systems of very good staff to begin with. With the right mind set and hiring process, we brought in great new staff. We re-did the decor of the lounge, menu, kitchen and attitude of the establishment. We did not need to advertise as the general buzz from the regular customers and hotel staff was amazing. Business really took off and it was great to see that with my management and the right people, we could accomplish all that we did as fast as we did. The hardest part was getting rid of the bad attitude and staff that made the place so terrible to begin with. We started making everything from scratch and had all the training tools we needed to keep things safe and consistent. It just goes to show that with the right motivation and attitude, any team can accomplish the impossible.
