Not good for beginers
Field Technician (Employé actuel) –  Scarborough, ON17 décembre 2018
No insurance. no full time position. No health card. Lot of staff. Need at least 1.5 year to be full time member of the company. After being full time you will get all the benefits. Salary increment in every 6 months of average 50 cents per hour.

a lot of work for little reward
Field Services Technician (Employé actuel) –  London, ON14 décembre 2018
Days include working on the copper network, outside as well as inside customers houses.
The job can be physically demanding (climbing poles with extension ladder) and compensation is little.
As a part timer, it is quite challenging knowing your own schedule as the company can force you in to work.
Points négatifs
very poor work-life balance

I work on a computer all day and document requirements for software development of product and service.
I work in large project groups and attend conference calls daily to deal with requirements and issues to move project forward.
I am a independent worker and a self starter.

The most objective review you'll see!
Field Technician (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON3 décembre 2018
Hey everyone :)

If you're reading this then you're probably looking to start working for for them.

I'll give you an incite to what its like as a New Hire Technician;

You'll do your interview at one of the work centers and they'll ask you why you think that you'll be a good technician, then probably get you to distinguish a certain color cable from the 25 pair cable. If successful you'll be offered employment.

Once offered employment, you'll start your training which will more than likely be on the copper network which will last approx 2 week.

Upon completion of your training you'll be "thrown out to the wolves" and will start working solo from that day.

Starting wage depending on experience will be approx $15-16/hr

$1 wage increase every 1040 hours

You can expect during the winter to work 8-48 hours/week and during the summer 40-48 hours per week.

Company cellphone,vehicle,uniform and tools are all provided free of charge.

The job is self is fairly easy, however you must not be afraid of heights and not afraid of social interaction. EVERYDAY! you'll be meeting new people and depending on the dispatch area you'll probably be climbing up to 28ft in the air every day.

At the start you'll be very stressed out because you'll work significantly slower than experienced techs but don't worry... you'll get better. A lot of guys will make managers sound like bad guys but they're going to be a great resource for you to help you grow.

Once you've successfully past you 6 month and your manager think you'll be an asset to the company you'll complete
  plus... your probation.

Congrats, you're technically not a New Hire anymore!

Once you get to this stage you'll start to realize some things such as;

1) The company and managers will literally treat you as a number since you're "experienced" now and should always be delivering high job efficiency and rework. ( rework is when a customer calls back in within 7 days of you being there )

2) absolutely 0 work/life balance ( this WILL NOT change until you've reached full-time, which could take YEARS! ) ( You'll be working every weekend until you're full-time... I'm not joking )

3) The job gets easier with your experience but you'll learn new things everyday!

Now for my 2 cents on things you should really know;

- The managers really do treat you as a number.. no joke.. but at the start they WILL be a good resource for you to learn.

- The Vehicles you'll drive will be "pool" vehicles so you'll drive a new one every day and will have to spend 20 minutes cleaning the vehicle every day. ( people are slobs ). After you're there for a bit you might get a "primed" vehicle which means you'll drive that every day.

- Seriously 0 work/life balance, you're schedule can change for the next day up to 7pm that night. EVEN IF YOU WERE SCHEDULED OFF THAT DAY!!

- Expect to work loads of overtime in the spring/summer/fall and in winter you could work as little as 8 hours every 2 weeks depending on work. ( full timers are guaranteed a certain amount of hours )

Summary;

If you like working loads of overtime while spending the majority of your shift outside and meeting new people then this could be the job for you. A lot of these reviews on here are true... the company can be a nightmare to work for.. however you get out what you put in. If you work hard for your manager he will treat you good.

Sounds dumb.. but it's true.

Remember guys if you decide to work for this company don't be afraid to ask for help.. nobody will turn you down. NOBODY!

I spent like an hour typing this out for you guys, ENJOY!

Analyst (Employé actuel) –  Mississauga, ON29 novembre 2018
I enjoyed my time at Bell however the company is very much focused on how to make more money, at the expense of employees and customers. There are lots of opportunities to grow if you are in the company.
Points positifs

Points positifs
Complicité entre collègues
Points négatifs
exigences augmentées . Niveau de stress élevé .
