No place for advancement when hired as a Sales Rep

I have worked for Bell Canada for over 2 years now. When hired, They explained that they are very reasonable with hours. Which I found out was not true. I stated before being hired that I had specific days for being in the hospital, they decided to drop me from a promised minimum 30 hours a week down to 13. A typical day would be coming in for 10am and reorganizing the store/cleaning, Then possibly doing a couple upgrades for customers. After it has settled down there is unfortunately no extra activities to do, instead I would attempt to help out but i would not have the authority to do the things that need to be finished. I would also assist the manager in searching for new employees to hire.

I have been working for Bell for few years and moved around few different dept within the network team. Overall the company is great, it has its standards and practices like other big corporations out there. If you are looking to make big changes or create/build something this is not the right place for it (there are still lots of old school staff working here), you better off apply to a start up if you like building something from ground up. If you want to learn about processes/operations, this is the right place for you.

As for paid, Bell is a big company the starting salary/hourly rate is not bad, don't expect big raises though, you will get roughly 1-5% raise per year depends on your performance.
