Good to work in Laurentian to gain some industry experience but not at all for you career advancement Take LBCFG offer if there is no other option but If you have multiple options better do some research and compare all organizations throughly

The typical day beguns at 8:30am. Learnt a deeper appreciation of diversity and the management culture is excellent - involving and considerate. Hope to get position higher-up that involves creativity and oroblem solving. Although, it is still an evolving business entity and this creates room for growth and expansion in the market place.

Emplois et carrières chez Banque Laurentienne Groupe Financier
It's a changing bank with lots of opportunities they offer. It's easier to move up within the bank than the other banks. On the other hand, the salary paid doesn't follow up with the cost of living in Toronto. Also, there is lots of politics in the company hierarchy.
I spent a couple of years in one department and the work was relaxed. I barely did overtime. Atmosphere was pleasant/ neutral. I have been working in another department for a couple of months now, and overtime is in the culture. Staff is friendlier and work hard. In overall, the management tries to be pleasant by organizing a few events. Tasks are repetitive and high volume; nothing difficult. Difficult to advance in your career within the institution. Good place to start a career . multi cultural.
If you want to start your financial career somewhere, this is the place to be. It will push you to discover answers to your questions by picking people's minds. Although the culture of B2B is not reliant on social interaction, if you come from a closed-off job to this, it makes for a good transition. It certainly will not help you improve your social skills if you come from a selling position and this job might not be for you. It is repetitive in nature and the instruction received, as well as training, is being conducted by people who have been in your position and learned the tips and tricks of how certain work assignments need to be done. Needless to say, not everyone is a good teacher so it creates confusion more often than not as two people can give different advice in regards to how to complete a task. Also, do not expect a raise before 1 year has passed, even if you are the best at your job. The words of the president still resonate with me: if you want to advance in this job and create a career for yourself in banking, you must be willing to answer questions others do not want to answer.
Free lunch in the summer time, good work parties
Long hours necessary for advancement, smelly people, poor training system
The sole and purpise of recruiting newcomers in this company is to take advantage of them. After planning to layover every unionised worker in Quebec, they are just hiring new comers with a very low salary, temporary contracts and not a single incentive or advantage. Yiu need to be permanent to get anything and to be permanent is just very difficult. There is big potential of growth and learning but it is just wasted by incadescent discriminative old ways managers who only got there by staying and waiting, sometimes it is hard to just explain the simplest concept or idea and you will hear comments and critique that will push you to just keep quiet and not bring your ideas to the table.
Coffee machine on site, but provided by the building management apparently.
